Big news coming on this project that's been sitting for over 2 years in the back yard. Whats the BIG news ? Restarting work on it? selling it? subby powertrain conversion with twin trubos running NOS? Everyone's gotta have a little helper, and who can say no to a face like that. Good Grief Charlie Brown, this posting alone is 34 pages, makes me wonder what the subby transformation will be like. Hey, what's that front spoiler off of? 1990 Dodge Daytona , its actually about 1 1/2" too wide , but working some windows "paint" magic (still haven't messed with photoshop) i see what things can look like before i wreck the body or the random parts i have laying around - the turn signals are from an '87 Dakota pickup. once i get rolling on this again I'll start posting before pics, tear down pics, idea pics like this, and rebuild:-X .

I never heard of S-glass before, all i can find at my local stores is fiberglass mat, and loose packed crap. good for basic stuff but this Sglass sounds interesting. watch out google, here I come.

I was talking to a guy with a Sterling kit on Facebook today, and he is actually using Carbon fiber to replace some of the highly stressed points on it where the fibergass cracks. He made a contour form molds and is going to make the parts in the molds, then cut out the glass and insert the carbon fiber an repaint the car.

I wondered what that adjuster was on my blue 74 GT. Oh well, I just used some 4 setting coilovers on the third highest setting to fix the height on the silver 76. think i'll take the front setting back down to either 2 or 1.
Thank you for bumping this back into use!

for GT or GT-II? If its the GT, you may be able to make one from Plexiglass. Make a template on paper and most any glass shop could come up with something for you... If you're talking GT-II, I'm of no help here.

I just took a closer look at that bottom one, IS that bolted ON TO THE ENGINE??? that would brak the casing if it ever was used wouldn't it?

Post by cocacoladodge on May 22, 2013 1:52:52 GMT -5
I like that bottom one. The one just above is like what I was saying, he has that cage around the engine, the top bars could attach to that, and the lower could go further torward the front...
-Skip, any idea what his is going to be titled as? A "B-II trike"?

* engine cage not engine case...

I don't know if bars would work, remember the body will be hinged o tilt back.
Maybe if you mount it on the bottom of your engine case and further up on the underside of your chassis?
then again a bike should be able to pop one every now and then...

I saw this on Facebook several times, even had it as a background on my computer for a few days. It is techincally a sidecar, which doesn't need seperate licence.
Don't let Skip see this until his GT-II trike is done, I want to see how that turns out before he starts building sidecars... Just kidding Skip!

Your personal email is hidden from us, and this is an easier way for us to see who is interested in this deal. Otherwise you could have a ton of personal messages all asking the same thing. Thats the point of a forum post like this, to get the word out and compile allthe questions and answers in one place.
Now if it isn't too much to ask, some photographs would be nice to have posted so we can see what we have to work with.

I never heard of that place, its good to know about. I've been looking at House of Kolor. They have about the same products, I thought about experimenting with theglow in the dark and large metalflake, but I can't see doing that until I come closer to painting. Then what I do on test panels will be fresh in my head.

If you want the Carbon fiber look, do some checking on the cost of REAL carbon fiber mat (or however i can be ordered) and the process of applying it. From what I have seen from a couple old honda crx here in town that did their hood and rear hatch with it, it looks lke a simular pocess as fiberglass.

Yeah, I remember when you got them from the donor car. I just thought you planned it that way. However, being Air, when you make right turns it would allow the body to tilt left (and lft turns tilt roght...) unless you lean into the turn like on a motorcycle. It should be an awesome feel compared to a gas shock... Ok, I think I've blabed enough on this, just thining out loud so to say. I can't wait to see whats next on this.

You call that rusted? you should see my drums on the blue 74, I can't even turn them so the chassis is stuck where it is until i can restart on it again.
Now on a different note, your shocks. Did you choose air over coilover so you can still lean in to turns like a normal bike?

You want to see something mindblowing, go to the henery ford museum in dearborn mi. they had joystick controlled cars back from around 1900 and 50s/60s concept cars also with joysticks, and controls simular to a modern plane and also like a boat.
Something else simular to this is Bi-wire drivelines... I did a research paper on the concept of it back in '02.

Ok, I know its not Specific to Bradleys, however it is for kitcars... I doubt anyone will be able to attend unless you live in Penn, but I found the info on facebook. This is from their site www.carlisleevents.com/ or www.sportscarmarket.com/digital-issues/Carlisle2013-Import-Kit/ Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals May 17-19, 2013 Carlisle PA Fairgrounds Celebrate an international automotive festival, May 17-19 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds with the Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals. The weekend features cars from the world over and highlights a wide array of live music, seminars, displays, guests and more. In addition, there is onsite autocross and a special judged activity known as the Standard of Excellence. Both allow the car owner, for a fee, to showcase what their machine is all about. The nonstop fun commences Friday with music at four different locations, including on the River 97.3 Main Stage. Guests include Peter Brock, plus seminars hosted by John Twist, Harold Pace, Geoff Hacker, Rick D’Louhy, Carl Heideman and Meguiar's Car Care products. These sit-down sessions are very informative and, best of all, free with a paid admission. Shop the midway, swap meet or car corral and enjoy the best import and kit car-themed weekend around.

I can't really say for sure on a BGT-II, but for the GT, I think you are going to have clearence issues, I do with my 14s running with coilover shocks

I would say check www.thesamba.com for rims that size if you really want to keep the 4 luger... If you have another wheel with a different bolt pattern in mind already, there are also many hub adapters on there. Before you do anything I would recomend gong to a tire shop and see if they have a bolt on template so you can check clearence. You will nee thin tires to fit on the wheels. -upgrade suspention to raise up, stiffen to cut body roll... I have a set of Keystone 14s on my B-GT, and also have 13s that I put on during winter when it sits on the concreate garage floor.
