Would it be a good or bad Idea to carbon fiber wrap my gt2? Would be good but look stupid! To much carbon fiber to it. Car wraps start at about $500 & UP. Will last only 2 - 3 years. PAINT IT!

My friend Jamie had his car wrapped for his business . The cost was $3500.00 it looked good for about a year or so. That same money invested in a paint job would last you for years looking good . But your name is on the title so it's your choice but if the car were mine it wouldn't happen.

If you want the Carbon fiber look, do some checking on the cost of REAL carbon fiber mat (or however i can be ordered) and the process of applying it. From what I have seen from a couple old honda crx here in town that did their hood and rear hatch with it, it looks lke a simular pocess as fiberglass.

I was talking to a guy with a Sterling kit on Facebook today, and he is actually using Carbon fiber to replace some of the highly stressed points on it where the fibergass cracks. He made a contour form molds and is going to make the parts in the molds, then cut out the glass and insert the carbon fiber an repaint the car.

When he's done you can be sure it won't crack there again . Another good thing for strength is S glass. It's fiberglass cloth with different weave pattern very strong.

The chemical formulation of S-glass differs from that of standard E-glass. Examples of E-glass are found in the Standard Fiberglass Cloth section of this catalog. S-glass is 30% stronger and 15% stiffer than E-glass and retains these properties up to 1500° F. S-glass is also considerably tougher than an equivalent E-glass. Other styles are available on request. Sold by the yard.
S-2 Glass products are made exclusively by AGY and are supplied to a wide variety of markets and end use applications around the world. S-2 Glass fiber has been selected and qualified over other fiber materials for demanding applications such as helicopter blades, aircraft flooring and interiors, vehicle and vessel armor protection, fireman and scuba bottles, and high strength timing belts.

According to the place I got my E-glass from S-glass wets out more evenly than the E-glass does. It's been a long time since I bought the glass cloth but S-glass was quite a bit more expensive. The extra strength would make it worth the cost . My problem is being a cheap guy lol.
