Did you buy the seats on this side of the big creek or were they shipped from the UK?

I have what I thought was an Avenger body but the doors are cut in a radius into the roof and the body separates in different areas. What is this?

I got a full 8 hours on the Avenger yesterday...my body is aching today!
Both seats are installed, console in, steering wheel in, horn installed, weatherstripping on, carpet trimmed, all 4 wheels re-assembled and installed.
For the first time in 3 years it was back on the ground. It looked good. Of course it wouldn't roll.....
The door braces that I fabricated to stiffen the hinge area dug deep into the front tires. I "forgot' that the tires move rearward when you put them back on the ground. Thats rearward movement caused the angle iron used in the braces to dig into each front tire. I wondered why it wouldn't roll of turn!

Its been 3 years in the making but tonight...for the first time...this project was on its own legs! And it rolled! I corrected my clearance issues and it looks like we are good to go. Interior is done except for my shifter/ebrake boots and the trim pieces that go near the windshield. Exterior needs mirrors installed and cut and buff. No engine yet. Horn needs to be fixed. Steering box needs a little adjustment. Other than that its ready to roll! And yes....it is LOW

I agree, it has been a great pleasure as well as enlightening to watch your progress on this project. The extra work it takes to document it is much appreciated. As usual, the quality of your work looks second to none, especially when one considers the amount of fabrication that had to be done. Good Job! Warmest Regards.....

That old piece of junk turned out to be a real beauty !!!! Very nice job Jeff. Job well done. Now get that Aztec 7 in there and rip it apart.

Aztec 7 is second in line. I have a nice old Autodynamics Deserter dune buggy next. I am selling my old Katana motorcycle so I need something open air to drive. The Deserter fits that bill very nicely. I have purchased some real nice stuff for it. Its been a long road for the Avenger for sure. Its got some great stuff in it: 4 wheel disc brakes, relocated shifter, hang down pedals, hydralic clutch, dual master cylinders, power windows, corvette door handles & tail lights, VDO gauges, custom fuel tank, power front and rear hatches, ARE 398 rims, Flaming River stainless tilt column, Pioneer sound system, and alot more. Its taken the longest of all my kits but was clearly in the worst shape and was the most complicated with all the non-vw based parts and the multiple hatches and doors.

This goes to show that no matter how bad a kit is the finished project is only limited by your imagination. Most people think they can buy a project and finish it in a week and have a new car. but the reality is if you want it done right the first time take it down to the bones and build it up strong to last and when you finish it will be something worth keeping.. The main reason the Bradley gt2 has lost it's flavor is because people aren't building them with pride like people that have other kit makes!!! I've heard of people putting 5 to 10 grand into a kit and then you could buy the thing for $500 a year later because they didn't finish the masterpiece. Take for instance The 2 that were custom with the tilts what happened they just give up? Then look at this car and Dans gt2 both are good cars now because someone took the time to build something. Money has ruined a lot of people I can remember when something didn't work we got our hands dirty with some cuts and bruises and fixed the problem and learned in the process nowadays people just want to pay someone else to do it because they don't have the time or patience for anything. If people would slow down and start doing things for themselves they would find out they could save a ton of money and they would also find out that the project will actually relieve a lot of stress and bring a family closer together if it is a family project!!!

The result is amazing . My car I consider ok , I like to drive it more than work on it now days . It still needs body and paint and interior work . Other than that it is too much fun not to be driving . BTW even in the semi ruff shape it is it still took 3rd in class at a show this past weekend . Take care you resto is top shelf , Steve

Figured out the horn tonight. Seems like when I was wiring up the GM style adapter for the Flaming River tilt column I skipped over a socket. The ground wire which activates the horn relay was connected to nothing.
Popped it out, moved it over one space, and beep beep.
Also tightened up the steering box.
Was going to do some buffing but I was tired. Don't want to be messing with paint when your fatigued.

Well, Jeff, I hope you find the right buyer. All that work and talent should not go to anyone who couldnt appreciate it. Wish I had the cash. Again, many wonderfull new ideas are brewing in my little shop, and I thank you for it. Guess its back to fabricating for me..........

Thanks for the nice words. I have had some interest but nothing yet. I will get the mirrors on it this week, install the center caps, add the final bit of conduit over some wires and drag it out for a real picture taking session in the sunlight. Then most likely EBAY.

Got the mirrors on last night. Needed my wife to sit in the car (I don't fit) to help me with the positioning. They look great. They are Vitaloni Californian knock offs. Gloss black and really kinda nice.
I also got the rest of the conduit on, the rear stubs torqued and cotter pinned, and the rear 914 calipers adjusted (yes...you can adjust the rear calipers). I just need a couple of metric screws for the rear center caps and it will be basically done (just motor work).
I am hoping to sneak it out of my shop for a photo session on Saturday before the storm comes barreling through. My son is not happy about losing his attached garage parking spot but I need to get it out of the shop for some body work I need to do on my nephews Mazda before he heads out to college.

Congrats on your sale. The new owner really is getting the finest Avenger GT out there. There is an Avenger GT on ebay right now, who thinks his is the finest made...but it is not...the one you built is.

Thank you.
Thats a nice Avenger thats on there. I like the early Vette handles. No windows though. I can understand...they are a pain in the backside!
Plus I like where my shifter sits...its about 8" back from the stock location.

Yes, Congradulations. I, too have a lot of fresh ideas pouring around my shop. I am glad you posted all the details, as I was one of those who thought I would be done in no time. Well, when you get started and quality is more important than quickness, you get a new picture in a short time. My convertable/roadster idea is still going, but its on hold till spring, as my daughters Bug needs a work-over first. I hope your buggy is a real pleasure for you. I understand the open-air feeling.
