Skip, quit playing with that 3D printer and work on something! It can't be too cold for you, considering all those "helpers" that Horen2tas sent you. Besides, you have your Harbor Freight shelter that you built.

OK, still working on it. Been getting 2 VW rolling frame together take to VW show May 2-3 to sell. Still working on the Subaru wiring to get the computer out of it. Also put Rob Stone old project body on it for some test fitting. It came with a VW gas tank which fits better then the Bradley GT tank. Will still have GTII tank up front & will use the FORD duel tank setup on it. You can see on the floor the side pipes I'm planning. They will have HD mufflers & side covers off the 3 wheel car which I change to longer covers.

Skip - I just read through this thread. Very impressive. You are a talented individual. Thanks for sharing all the work you are doing in such a detailed way. Maybe I shouldn't sell that Subaru EJ22 I had planned to put in the 914?

Monday sprayed primer/surfacer Tuesday sanded it down all day with 320g & 500g it was hard as rack! Wed AM prepped, tacked & sprayed 4 coats base color, dark colors still showing, order more paint & cover dark spot 2 times then 2 coats base color walking the car. Screwed up the w/s post so tried a nap. no good 4PM went down & sanded/repainted w/s post. Sprayed cleared, one lite coat, one mid coat then one heavy coat. Cleaned the gun for the 5th times, came upstairs to goof off.Video on Thursday.

Been have nothing but head aches with the bug on the rear fender Sanded the base coat & it just gummed up on me. After getting the cleaned off, added bondo & sanded. Three coat for heavy filler & now look at it, major bubbles in it.+

That's terrible Skip. What causes the problem? Too much solvent? Humidity?

Think the coat under it had not flashed off. The base color doesn't want to be sanded & gums up. Have tried to repair a number of time & I think it's going to be strip down on the whole fender!

OK, I don't believe that a small little bug could cost me so much in time, money & 2 DA Sanders that went flying without a lic. It's been 4-5 days of trying to fix this fender.. it's now in primer & look ok again. Will wet sand & shoot the blue on the fender & a few other small areas & hope for the best. Then one more layer over the whole car. Never shot solvent base coat , Had always been 2K with harder., Boy that stuff loves to gum up on you.
