Ten four rattle snake. I really didn't want to get into the whole wiring prosses of the thing but for god sake. It uses the power off a switch on the linkage witch powers another relay witch than gives power to my hho device 13.61315 volts witch than sends hydro up the hose to the breather box witch than incresed my millage 5.2376986612 miles per gallon. I'm not sure why we are so data crazy and who really cares but it does work and who has so much time to worry about the wiring prosses on my 1997 Jeep or my 1997 Chevy. Why don't we stop and check out the footage that Skip provided to us all and just relax. Witch, Which is which

OK, it's been a week & I wanted to go out & PLAY. So removerd the stinky gas tank & started to look around under the front. WOW, what a mess. Did get both head lights realine to body so now they are flat. Checked the linkage & found one bolt almost off, Fixed it. One limited switch was broken, so replace with unit from white GT II. The wiring for the motor was cut & no fuse body left. Tried a Batt to it & sparky was in there. So check the spare from the White GT II, No go, gone. So being an old time Mech I tore it apart. Not much to it realy. Found some RUST inside so clean it up some. The biggest thing was the brushes. Looked NEW But one had rust (ground), so popped them out & found the spring was weak due to the rust. WILL GUESS WHAT? ? The spring from a click pen is the same!!! Rust on the Armacher & magnets, so sanded them clean also. The body was rusty, so sanded & painted it black. Plan on putting a little sealer on the caps when it goes back together Sat.

OK, the head light motor check out OK & working, now I need to set it up on the car & adjust. Next, steering column! Pull it out of the car & disiassy'ed. Took the $20.00 column apart & it was trash. Got a nice Gino wheel off it w/VW adp. which I don't need. Was able to get the turn/wiper switch off the white one in good cond. Painted the column & put the good parts back in it & reinstalled in the car. Next wiring coming up. Next the wiper assy. came out, disassy'ed, cleaned, lubed, freed up & painted. Tested, working now so back into the car with silicon sealer on the stems. Removed the 3 hatch latches, cleaned up & paint. Could only repair 2 of the 3. So installed on rear window with a new catch & installed new rams. Working good, but you need to pull the cable & lift up the glass, no spring to help pop. The other on went to the engine cover with a good catch off of the white car. Works the same as the glass. Move the elec. fuel pump up front leaving the reg in the back. Installed it 2 times on the side plywood but the gas tank would hit it, so moved it up & under then ended up turning it around to get the kicks out. Don't know if you can see in in the picture, but it's up there. OK, break time over, time to go back down & think about it some more.

Having fun with the rats nest wiring. Got the wipers working then they didn't! The engine starts & runs OK. Need to find a head light & e-switch to get them to work w/turn sig. Fan works but noisey.

Thursday, went to Pull-a-Part to fine VW Head light switch & a Flasher switch. Found rockers out of a 924 & switches from a VW. How ever there was 1 Beetle, 2 Karmann Ghia with engines in them. So picked out the one with the 2 bbl weber sitting on top. So crawl under to unbolt her & there were no nuts, just me. So can back out & pulled & she came right out, WOW easy engine. Also got a pair of air shocks were are good, & a good starter. Got home & checked the new 1600, didn't want to turn over. A little rust on one of the spark plugs, so took apart that side. The head wouldn't come off the cyl's & cyl's wouldn't come off the piston. Let them soak over night & got the piston out, cracking both cyl's. So drove to a VW shop 35 miles away.
FOUND OUT IT"S A 1800 with new heads on it. He heated the head up & hammered the broken jugs off. Had a good used pair & put new ring on the pistons. Had the Header & very good heat boxes sand blasted. Got a Alt tower, nuts, screws, needed gaskets & sheet metals. Also a stripped trans housing to cut down to mount the starter for testing.
Got back home, ordered a Alt & & mounted the jugs, pistons & head. Today will fit, clean & paint the sheet metal & hopefully start her up.
Now here's the kicker. I paid $800.00 for the finished yellow engine in the Bradley & will have only $400.00 in this 1800 which I will be selling.

That would make it an 1835cc not an 1800 unless someone found a way to use bus jugs and modify the crank to get the same stroke as the bus.

Ok, here she is almost finished, can't get the crank pully off to mount the sheet metal. No bottom sheet metal. This is pretty much the way I got it less the Alt & paint. Alot of clean the sheet metal. Had new clutch, heads, jags, pistons, intake, & carb work done to it in the past. Have about $450.00 in it.

Make a puller for the pulley. flat bar or angle iron { less chance of bending} with 3 holes. Outer 2 [5/16"] same distance apart as the 2 holes in the pulley, 3rd hole [1/2"]in center. Bolt it on to the pulley using fairly long bolts and nuts. install threaded rod in center hole with a nut and washer between the flat bar and the pulley. Jam 2 nuts onto the threaded rod to turn the rod. Hold the nut and turn the rod. Heat from a propane torch may help. Keep in mind that carb icing may occur as the heat riser is a lot less efficient with that style header. Do you have the lower sled tins for under the cylinders? As there is no road draft tube on the oil filler assembly you will need to hook the oil filler vent to the air cleaner housing. Is that the ultra rare manually operated generator I see in the back ground?
