Not to mention you will be buying tires more often. I mean come on, You have a 200hp engine on a car weighing 1/4 the weight of my car trailer... You just gotta put those hybrids in their place, lol

$600 - Now thats going to be hard to pass up. I have a few questions.
What size is the motor? how many carbs, or do you have superbeetle fuel-injection (yes they did that in the 70's)
Do you have any pictures that you could either post or send via email?

Has anyone ever done a electric kit on their covers? something I was thinking was getting some electric units from a mid 90's ford probe, turning that backwards, and fiberglassing the back of the Bradley cover to the front of the probe ones. There are Probes in the local junkyard quite often, as well as other cars with hideaways, the Mid 90's probe looks closest to the curvature, and size to what I'm looking for. Anyone have advice on this?

If only I could get it.... Since its already Yellow, I would finish it off like Racer X's car (from Speed Racer). If memory serves me correctly, it was called the Shooting Star. That would be too cool.

Big Bob I sure hope so, you among others on here have been an inspiration to me, and have kept me motivated by knowing that I'm not the only one having issues, and finding ways to overcome setbacks. -Bob

My first has been undergoing stripping down and tear down for the majority of the time I have had it, now after what seems like 10 years, (just a little over 8 1/2) Total rebuild has just recently kicked off in the past few months.
My newest was "complete" when i bought it, but I already have a list of the things to be done/redone... -Bob

-Gary, Big Bob has her up for sale... which is too bad, with as much time he has in her, shes so close to being a dream come true.
-Big Bob, if you are reading this, We know you can do it, just a little more tweeking and you'll have a sweet sound of victory and a running beast that will put a smile on your face. Keep her, you'll be kicking yourself later if you don't.

Why is it that so many people want to sell their Bradleys all of a sudden? Winter won't last forever (I'm in snow covered Michigan). Well, keep in touch, and good luck on the sale.

Hey there David, You know we all get to the point where we want to say "I can't keep doing this"... But thats what we do, its embedded in our dna from all the busted knuckels, scratches, and various other injuries in the name of passion and devotion to these little machines, that no matter how much you think you hate it or want to sell it before the next thing needs to be fixed, it will always have a place in our hearts. Have you thought of possibly of a storage unit? Then it wouldn't be in the way, and you can still cruise in style when you feel like it. If you are deadset on passing her on to a new owner, what is your asking price? I just got my second Bradley about 4 weeks ago, and some of my friends are interested in mine, which I am not going to sell. I'm going to have them check out your pictures, and see if they like it. I know one for sure is already trying to figure driving time and mileage with his 5th wheel. The deciding factor would be the asking price. If you can come up with one soon, he may take it. He is also checking out a sandrail... if he doesn't get one, he'll get the other.

go to the classifieds section of the forum, and find "interesting stuff" the guy they are talking about has multiple GTs and GTIIs from the looks of it. But good luck calling the number, I tried calling him 3 times to get the remaining licence plates he has left to take to VW Funfest, and I just can't ever get him.
Good luck! -Bob

It would be fun, however there wouldn't be a way track and review the great info that we would discuss. The fourm is setup great already, and something like that added to the site would get me fired from work, i would be on here too much, lol.
Good idea all the same. -Bob

My destination for now is itEffington / Effingham whichever it is.
Once I know what my '76 with the old 1500 is capable of, then I'll concider the drive to Niagra Falls. When I get the '74 with the 1600 finished, (looking at sometime within the next year) I will be able to attend a few different events as long as I can get days off, lol. -Bob

You may want to turn the crank down tomove the piston to bottom dead center and check the cylinder walls. I saw a Chevy that had a simular issue, it got put back together once the nut (from the breather) was removed, and it ran fine for about 10 minutes before the piston ring caught in a damaged section of the cylinder. Bill told me just after he started it up that he forgot to check, but it would be fine. Yeah, ok... Point being check the cylinder walls, and save yourself a headache. -Bob

If he still has them, I'll take all 7 licence plate frames. I intend on selling them to fellow Bradley owners for the initial cost and the price of shipping, so I have nothing to loose or gain from this venture. I just want to ensure that ONLY Bradley (GT, GTII, GTIIe) owners get these plate holders, not some random person who doesn't know what they have. -Bob

It would be great to have some shirts made in time for the VW Funfest in Effington, IL. Even if you could make up an order form in the next month or so with different options on it, that would be great. If you need help with a "start up" fee, I would be up to helping out. Drop me a Personal Message and lets make this happen. -Bob

That sounds BAD @$$, a 4x4 Bradley... or you could call it a BAJA BRADLEY.
Question - How are you at welding? If your good at it, you could make your own subframe using whatever is left on the car now as a template, and put in replacement floorpans or make your own. If your not good at welding, check a bodyshop, or a local welding supplier and see if anyone will work out a reasonable price to make one for you.

I thought 2014 for EVERYONE to meet, and that would give for us time to finish projects, and make travel plans...
However, I will be going to Effington this year with the '76 I just bought on Christmas Eve to meet whoever can make it. And hey, who knows, we may not make it past 12-21-2012... and in that senerio, I want to have had the chance to meet some of my Bradley Family. No matter what, I will be spending the enitre day of 12-21-2012 IN MY BRADLEY!!! If I'm gonna die or be raptured, or whatever may happen, Want to be in the place that makes me happiest that I have ever been.
Hope to see you all at Effington this year. -Bob

It sounds like Effingham IL would be a great event to meet up, and now I'm half tempted to cancel my suscription to Hot VWs (what a jerk) but I still have another years worth paid for, and I can't base an entire mag. on one person who can't accept the fact that the Bradley is what Bug owners wished they had the guts to do.
Now to try and make sure I get a few days off work around then. Hope to see someone there.
Oh yeah, I wanted to throw it out there, once my other Bradley is done, I was already planning a trip on the Dragon... some friends of mine took their bikes on it the past 2 years. Does it really have that many curves?!

Hello Everyone,
I know I was not present at the last big get together or Bradley owners in 2004, as that's about the time that I bought my first Bradley. I am just trying to see how many of us out there would like to get together again for say a 10 year reunion of the last meeting, and to meet new people...
There are a few people on here that are making things for Bradleys, or at least GREAT Ideas for them, such as the person who is making stripe packages, and I know someone was making plans to make up T-Shirts (if they are still thinking of it)... There are always members swapping and selling items, and why not bring those items in the corner of the garage on the top shelf along with you. This could be a great time for everyone, and a fantastic way to sell/buy items that we need or want.
Your input is appreciated, especially as to where the best location would be, for everyone... and also the time of year. I can't make this happen by myself, I'm merely making a suggestion and hopefully we can all make something out of it.
If we get a good enough response to this, I'm going to try to get "Dune buggies and HOT VWS" Magazine to come out and do a story on us, and show the world who we are. And IF they come out, we may be able to get some of our local VW Parts stores to sponsor the event, and have other makes and models show up too. Kind of like a BUG -IN only with the main focus on Kit Cars...
