Can you make up some graphics of the Griffin with the B Crest? My headlight covers are loosing their luster in the center (still metalflake silver), and I was going to have them redone however, I thought it would be cool to have the griffins on them instead. If you can, I would like one facing left and the other facing right (so they both are facing the center) and large enough to cover at least half of the headlight cover. with it being enlarged so much from the normal size, it would be fine with me if you made some changes to it to add a little more detail and flare to it. Also since I'm asking, what are the odds of having a stripe that runs from the front of the wheel well, across the front of the nose, to the other wheel well made up? the same car has some type of lace pattern on it in this location right now, and the decal is peeling and not looking so great. Thats not to say that I don't like the lace look, it just looks out of place with the solid stripe on the main section. I'll take some pictures and send to you sometime soon so you can see what I mean. -Bob

Thank you for sharing that website with the 2004 group. its nice to see everyone getting together like that, with pictures of the people I can connect screen names and images of their cars together, very cool!
Sorry again for getting off the main topic here, I just get excited about anything at all to do with the Bradley. -Bob

I would say check out www.factoryfive.com ... They make a new version of the Shelby Cobra, and have some nice chrome roll bars that may work. I can't say for sure how they would fit in the Bradley, however it is a nicely made unit. Not to mention this appears to be the only new company that makes kit cars now.

I've never seen so many Bradleys in one place, where was that carshow at? the closest VW event to where I live is the Spring and Fall BUG RUN at the US-131 Motorsports park/ Dragstrip in Martin, MI. I've aways been a spectator, but this year I'm taking one of my Bradleys to it. I've never seen one there so it will be interesting to see peoples reactions to it, not to mention to see how she does on the dragstrip (any participants in the show can run their Bug/Buggy/or whatever they have. Last time I was there, I saw a KarmenGhia do the 1/4 in 7.14sec... It was a fun day. They have a swapmeet area too. Sorry, I didn't intend on changing the subject from the doors to carshows, its just great seeing new ideas... Thank you for sharing the pictures.

The stainless supports look nice, I have been thinking of something simular with polished diamond plate. Of course it would be interesting to see what the fiberglass top with plexi sides would look like. does anyone have pictures of what this looks like?

I have the body off my 74 B-GT right now to do this very thing. I'm fabricating a square tube chassis with mounts for wheelie casters (most likely will be for looks) and I'm doing a 2 1/2" drop on the seats as well as raising the car either 1 or 2 inches by means of more tubing stock. My floors will be diamond plate, and a better rollcage than the stock pipe tri-mount thing in most. Did I mention I'm 6'3"... I need the extra space. I figure, getting everything at the local welding supply place I can do the whold thing for 400-500.
Good Luck

I just bought my 2nd B-GT on Christmas Eve, and was toying with the idea of buying a GT-II so I can have cars for my brother and best friend to drive with me to carshows and crusin around. Do you have pictures of the GT-II and the spare body you mentioned? If so, could you either post here or send them to my email please? the_cokekidd2u@yahoo.com I live near Kalamazoo, MI... so Im about 2 hours away from ohio, and about 3 1/2 - 4 hours from Columbus. So could you give me an approximate location, so that I can plan on how far it would be.

As far as parts, keep an eye on the classifieds forum here, ebay (just don't bid against me LOL), and any VW car shows, there are usually good finds at the swapmeet sections. If you don't already have one, get a suscribtion to "HOT VWS and Dune Buggies". there is a lot of parts vendors and good information there.
Again, Good Luck!

I would recommend a Ron Francis Wiring kit. go to www.ronfrancis.com and look up the following items. BB-695 this has all the bare essental wiring you need. XP-695 this one will be good if you have anything extra that needs power. It is a pain looking up things you may need on the website, there is a place on the site where you can request a free catalog and see what they have to offer. I tried Painless products on a past project, and some other kit i found in JC Witney on a pickup, and I have to say the Ron francis kit has been the most user friendly kit i have used, AND very helpful phone interaction. Good luck!

Merry Christmas to the Bradley GT family, and have a safe and fun new year with your B-GT or GTII. I just bought my second Bradley GT today as a Christmas Present to myself, so it is a great Chrismas for me already, with the promise of the best summer of driving I ever had!

No I don't have the parts to the computer, i dropped them off to the public liabary. they do this program with their supplier that they get new free computers inturn for donated electronics. they get tons of stuff donated.
And thank you for the site suggestion, I didn't find what I was looking for, but a new site is always an asset.

Out in the boonies near to Plainwell, MI. I'm about 7 or 8 miles from where the old Checker Cabs were built with 100% American parts and labor in Kalamazoo, MI back in the day. About 40 miles North of the Ohio state line and 40 miles from the West Coast fo the Great Lakes... I would be glad to be on the west coast of Cali, Flordia, or even Mexico, but someone has to be in the Snow (not yet though)

Do you have a TSC (Tractor Supply Company) near to where you live? They carry the exact same size lens in the trailer parts section, or you can get the entire unit with black rings instead for about $10. Check out some of your local owned parts stores too, NOT Autozone, Advanced Auto, Pepboys, or O'Rilies. they don't have squat. NAPA on the other hand might have it, parts plus usually has them in stock too. One last suggestion, try a truck stop, most have replacement lights for semis, and they were a perfect match for me.

About a month ago, I came across a VW parts website that had a Stainless steel fan shoud, a diamond plate fan shroudshroud, and a black-chrome or sale. there were also complete kits to replace all the normal chrome tin with any of these. Now here is my delmia, my laptop with 90% of my information for my bradley and other info on and other vechicals i have was destroyed when I let a friend use it and he set it on the roof of his car. you can guess what happened to that. Now I have been searching every site that i had written down in my old notes (thank goodness i kept those after putting everything on computer) but I still haven't found this one specific website that offers these three unique fan shrouds. If anyone knows where I can find either DiamondPlate, BlackChrome, or StainlessSteel fan shrouds, please drop me a line on here.
Thank you

The best way to find out is do an image search on your favorite search engine ( bing.com google.com yahoo.com ect...) and if none of the pics look like yours, look up "kit cars" and take a gander at some of the other sweet rides and brokendown clunkers. Weather you have a Bradley GT, Bradley GT 2, Scorpien GT (sorry if I misspelled that) or some other Kit car, you will find a lot of useful information on this site, and welcome to the family. You don't have to look the same, or try to make a look alike to be family here, we all have the same stuff inside that makes us connected with our machine as well as eachother.

I wish I knew how wide the GT2 was in comaprison to the GT, but if its the hight and stance of the spoiler that the MRS doesn't like, check out the spoilers on the 1989-93 dodge daytonas or off the 95-97 ford probe. The daytona should be almost perfect for keeping the body stance in prospective, and the probe is cruvy to keep the point of focus mooving. Now like a few of the others have mentioned, the light front end... take a look at some of the muscle cars from the late 60s-mid 70s, what do they have in common besides V8s. "Chin Spoilers," they played a triple purpose. 1. Helped pull the front end down with wind pressure. 2. Forced more air on the radiator for cooling. 3. Killer good looks. for that matter, check out some of the better done ricer tuner with the coffee can tail pipes, a lot of those body kits mimick the chin spoiler, and even have extra "wings" on each side to create down force at the wheel. If you have an extreame engine with the desire to push it hard, then the "wing" thing is a good and safe idea. For the sake of the looks of the BGT2 if you do go with a rear spoiler, do a chin spoiler also (like a camero or mustang) it will be as functional as it looks.
If nothing else, ask your "Boss" what it is that she doesn't like about the spoiler, and either downsize to a smaller one or go bigger... Like a Plymoth Superbird...

one of the guys i talked to at a car show did smething like this, but he is lousy at fiber glassing. here is what he did. he pulled the windshield, back window, and wings off his GT and then unbolted/screwed the top unit and took that to a boat shop. there they used that to make a template to make a free standing windshield unit. theu used 1/4 in tubing and made a couple brackets for it to slide into when placed on the can and is held in by i pins on each side. Now here is the nice thing about doing it this way, he still has the original top unit so if there is a chance he might have to keep it outside in rain, he switches units (takes him about 15 minutes and about 10 more to put his spare windshield in place (the other stays inset in new unit) so in about 1/2 hr he can have a stock looking gt into a convertable. he won some prize at the car show for doing that... good luck, measure 4 times, and mock up before cutting. bob

Ok, you should keep the Volt meter for starters. Amp meters only give you readings after there is a problem, such as a short or after you blow fuses, have dead batteries ect. Every thing looks fine until after its too late. the Volt meter allows you to see that the generator (or alternator) is kicking out, and also if there is high power draw when something is on indicating you have a potencial electrical issue. Car companys diched the amp meter and went to a volt meter for a reason, so keep it... The boost per sq in gauge IS the oil pressure, why its like that i have no idea, but it does look cooler than saying oil pressure. as far as not having a tepmature gauge, You have a air cooled motor (if its a Vw that is) so there is not a radiator to cool the engine. it is cooled by the oil and air flow, if you think its getting too hot, look into some oil cooling systems, and a higher oil flow system. A wise friend told me the faster you go, the cooler it gets, just make sure you have good brakes. good luck my friend Bob

Alright, Now this is perfect timing... I just pulled the body off mine to redo pans, brakes, wiring, ect. I'm debatingon weather to modify my body before i get a new metalflake coat on it or not. If the guy still has it, please send his contact info to me. I can have mine resprayed, and customize this one for a bug I found for 500 in northern MICH. I live in southwest Michigan, so this sounds like a great find to me.

check out either Jegs or Summit, the seats in those are almost the same style, AND there are a lot of options for those. If worse comes to worse, Pull a seat out and take to an upholstery shop and have them make a new one with padding done to your comfort. After all, Kitcars are all about making something plain into someting your own. -cocacoladodge

just a heads up, you would be better off getting newer seats from summit or jegs (that are styled simular to the Bradley seats) than get+ing from a car. The reason being that the seat angle will be off too much (too straight up) and will cause clearance issues with the rollbar/roof unit/gullwings. If you redid the windshield for the convertable look, it may work, however your line of vision will be off. The stock seats have little to no padding VS 3-6 inches of coshining. The closest seats I have found in a local salvage yard were from a Pontiac Ferrio, and also check for MR2 (i forget who made that). From the voice of experence, Check out Summit and Jegs and a local upholstry shop to get padding to your liking and they may cut you a deal if you have other things done at the same time. Good luck. cocacoladodge
