That is so awesome, I didn't think the green machine could get much cooler than it was, but darn... I agree, if you can get the wording on the side off that would be sweet done up like that. Do you think they will let you keep the N.O.S. on the front?

I have the wiring manual for the GT, I have been planning on scanning it and putting it on disk for anyone who needs it. I haven't done it yet, but let me know if you would be interested and I'll see what I can come up with.

Four of my customers drive a CTS (I manage a BOB-EVANS restaurant) and even though they are 30, 74, 82, and I'm guessing mid 50's, all of them like them and do burnouts in the parkinglot on occasion.
A Caddie is a big change from the Green Machine. If I were you I would go with the 80's 911. Its about the same size, and easier to understand.
How is the advertizing for that energy drink coming along? Any word as to when it will appear or how... Just on TV or on the bottle, ect?

For the GT, is this for the leather covers or for the fuzzy striped fabric covers? Are both the same since its the same seat?

Check out www.mooneyes.com you'll need to search a little, but they have the original style, as well as other styles that would work well. You may also want to check ebay for '40s-late '50s mirrors if you like chrome, there are an abundance of motorcycle mirrors that mount on farings that should work, they have simular mountingpoints as would look good even if you moved back like on the shot of the GT II above.

Well it looks like I won't be going after all unless I figure something out... My taxes didn't come out in my favor this year. Who knows, I might be able to swing it, but I won't know until later.

Good call, I've been looking for my repair manual for beetles for about two hours now, about the only place I haven't checked is my storage cabinet by the dissassembled Bradley. I have to call it quits for now, I need to get some sleep so I can be at work in 6 hours... AHHHH NOT AGAIN, lol.

They look level when noone is in it, and (-) negitive when I get in. Looking at the axle tubes, they look level but do have a slight taper down towards the wheel w/o anyone inside.
So next time I get a chance to get out to work on it, I'll start off adjusting the height.

Ok, call me retarded, please someone do it! I just went out and jacked it up and pulled the wheel off to take a picture and guess what. It is full swinger, on a '68 chassis I believe. My other Bradley has the IRS (on a 72 super beetle chassis) and I was expecting that this one was also. I guess when I saw it was a swing, I looked at the I.R.S. on my other to see the differences and put them together in my mind and accepted that as fact. Its funny to me now, sorry to have freaked you out trying to figure how it could have been done.
Now here is another question, on photos I saw on Bing with the swinger, it shows a leaf spring going from one side, under the trans to the other side, THAT IS missing on mine, do I need that?
The wheel size is 14, and it has some old tires on it that look like new. The tires are " Remington Cushion Aire Poly 4" ", size C78-14, with production date 9-14-74. I will be getting these changed sometime soon.
Now before I go making any major changes, does anyone know what the clearence height between the bottom of the wheel well and the tire should be on a swinger?

Ok, form what I can tell it looks like someone tried to convert a IRS to a swinger. Yeah I know that sounds crazy, but let me explain. I looked both of these up on bing images, and here are links to pictures why I think that is what happened. This shows what the axle looks like, a solid tube with a leather looking boot with snaps/rivets www.vw-ersatzteilvertrieb.com/out/pictures/z1/04-1005oe_z1.jpgSo it should be a swinger, right? Now for the crazy part. www.shining-wit.net/rick/buggy/design/body/sa_irs.gif looking at this, I have the curved part like the IRS half of the picture. Now the really psycho thing is, the bracket that attaches the IRS at the midway point (the lower straight bracket) to the front in not on mine, its just hanging there. So looking at this IRS, I need to get the bracket from the front to the rear like what you can see here. images.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/pix/2327774.jpg Should I just switch the whole thing to either full swinger or full IRS, or just get that bracket? Now as far as the wheels, they are the same as the ones pictured here. www.triniwheels.com/carsforsale/126/126f.jpg -No that is not either one of my Bradleys, just a pic of what they look like. I do not have adapters or spacers on either.

Now this isn't so much a joke as it is a tounge twister, but its great hearing people attempting to say it without cursing.
Start off by asking someone to reply to the famous tounge twister "Woodchuck"
-How much wood could a Woodchuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood.
After their reply of -A Woodchuck would chuck all the wood a Woodchuck could chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood... (this second part is even better if they can't say this correctly)
Now ask this poor soul to do the "Fudpucker"
-How much fud could a Fudpucker puck if a Fudpucker could puck fud.
Proper responces consist of: -A Fudpucker would puck all the fud a Fudpucker could puck if a Fudpucker could puck fud -AND- -Let me go ask Bugs Bunny.

I just saw an old Chrysler Conquest driving around, I haven't seen one of those for years... Anyway, at first look I thought it was a GT-II, you may be able to use some parts form one of those, such as the spoiler if you are still looking for one.

I don't like the almost non existant tire to body clearence on the rear of my Bradley. I recently replaced the last pair of shocks that were totally shot with an original size shock for a 67 beetle. That only raised it about 1/2", but at least the tires aren't rubbing on the inside of the wheel well now.
My questions for everyone are: 1. What size wheel and tire do you run? 2. What brand/type/height shock do you use?
Any feedback would be helpfull as to what you have found works well, and what doesn't.

I came across a Jaguar in m local salvage yard (first time I saw anything that high$$$ there) and it had the same size lights as the Bradley (about 5 3/4" diameter) so i got those and the mounting plate. I have seen quite a few older cars from the 60's and 70's with the same size in a dual light setup, any of those should work. I'm not saying you have to track down old parts or N.O.S. parts, thats just an option. I have found the bucket/ leveling/ and trim rings on ebay quite often. Right now, I'm looking into changing the hallogen bulbs over to HID units with colored HALO lit trim rings. Like one of the other members signatures says, You are only limited to what your imagination is capable of imagining.

check out the spoiler on the 1990 dodge daytona. It has simmular bodylines and curvature of the GT-II and it is a 3 piece spoiler so depending on how you mount it, it maynot affect the "hood" from opening.

Yes, that's factory. It was to hide the exhaust system like this . most were trimmed up closer to the body line, but hey its a kit car, we make them how we want them because we want to and we can...

If you want to switch it out for a different one, I believe you'll need to either pull the motor or unbolt the body and lift that off the frame. If you are willing to go that route, a standard fuelcell (like what you see in JEGS and other parts magizines) would work. Just get your measurements down.
If that is more work than you are looking to do, check the clearance under the frontend, and check out the round fuel tanks, you will want to use a electric fuel pump to push the fuel to the back, and find a place for a fill tube.
It would be safer just to replace the original with a new one if you don't want the original for some reason.

both of my Bradleys have the pull cable, and I want to get rid of that and go to an electric setup. I'm looking for Ideas how to do it, a wiper motor you say? sounds interesting, but not dependable... the force of wind might burn the motor out trying to keep it in position. thats why I'm thinking use an actual hideaway kit that can withstand opening and closing while driving without allowing the cover to flex in one direction or the other and snap.

As far as the back window, you want to get in contact with "Big Bob", send him a PM or look up his past postings and really listen to what he has to say. Don't just read a couple posts and call it good, go back as far as you can, and read the progress as well as the holdups, and take notice of other things that may be affected (such as carb, distributor, and fuel tank from the fiberglass dust; among other things.) and make yourself a todo list of things to prepare for a transformation like this. I'm not trying to tell you not to do it, because it does look cool and the porpose of a kitcar it to make it into something you want it to be. What I AM telling you to do is research, and learn from others, for they are our mentors and friends. If even we learn 1 thing from each other, it will be a lesson well learned.
