Been raining here on & off for 2 weeks now, but got a little bit rain & went out on the test drive. The Disc Brakes will lock up easy, but now the tires won't in the wet roads. Takes very little to use them on the pedal.

Went to my 1st VW show over the weekend 7/20-21 & had a lot of fun, got a good sun tan also. The camera screwed up & none of the pictures came out, had it on the wrong setting. But here's a picture back in the garage with it raining again with the awards we both rec'ed. I know, it doesn't look like a Trike. Also won the t-shirt on the seat.

My thought exactly.. Bradley trike build is what it started off as. Going to be kinda hard to fit those saddle bags and finders in with the body on it. Looks like a fun build though. Lots of twists and turns but still looking forward to seeing a gt2 trike.

Hey Skip,
I have been looking for a month or so at 3d printers let me know what you think about that one. I was leaning towards the replicator 2 or the Solidoodle.

Enjoy the 3D printing I have 3 Prusa mendels and a Printrbot . Some sage advice avoid cheap filament, ABS is good for structural parts PLA can be affected by moisture but smells a lot better than ABS . It was fun being able to make the other 3 printers using the first one to make the parts. If you plan on printing a lot getting your own filament extruder could save you some cash .

horen2tas stopped by on his way to FL. It was great to meet him & we had a good talk & showed him around the place. Will after make 3 Honda Trike body, one's been pickup already, I figured it's a good time to work on the VW Bradley GTII body. So pulled it out the weeds & had to pressure wash it. Then today in 39 degrees weather got started grinding the gell coat off were I will be fiber-glassing. Got it into the garage to warm up. Notice that the gell coat has been removed from about 2-3 inches on the edges. May have to trim the Alum, diamond plate fender which I was hoping not to do. Next will need to get it setup on the trike & shape the body out.

The body mounts on the Trike with a few mods. Had to notch the bottom of the Alum fenders to match the Bradley GTII. Kick the ex. pipes down a bit & cut out for the gas filler & sending unit. It will still flip. Also shows the Porsche seat the may go in the back. A few pictures to show it.

OK, here's the low down. Using some 2" pink foam that was laying around from another project, I shaped the fender area. Use carpet tape to hold the foam in place, then a surf board file to shape it. You can see all of the tools I use to do this in the pictures. Trying to keep the shape & looks of the GTII, then covered the foam with alum tape but ran out , so used the brown packing tape which fiberglass will not stick to. Then laid about 3 layers of 1.5oz mat & rolled it out to remove any bubbles. Later will flip the body & remove the foam & tape & add more mat to the inside. Now I have to do the right side to match it!

www.chadsbradley.co.nrI think it looks great... But forget about those brown seats and go for a padded plywood bench across the back. That would clean it up and complement the bike.

I like Chad's Idea with the padded built-in, But if you must use seats I'd go with the low-back dune buggy style. With Low-backs They should be in line with the top of the bike seat.

:DI would think that Skips thinking a little bit about comfort for himself and passengers. How something looks is often in the eye of the beholder, however, a comfortable place to sit and ride is well received by anyone.

OK, had a little problem with the Left side not matching the right.Looked like the fender was cut lower then the right. My friend Eddie said to make a copy of the right & use it to help line up the left. Did that & it was a big help, was able to finish lay on the form & shaping it. Then 3 layers of mat. Here you can see how much the arch on the fender had to be filled to match the right side. The brown tape goes to the edge of the fender. But now it's all glassed & waiting for it to cure. Will remove the body & flip it over to add more mat to to the inside. When I'm working on that will take the Trike to the VW Speed Shop for them to get the engine running better then it is I hope.

Both fenders are glassed & the front lower section. Next will be the rear floor area. Bradley GT Seats or Dune Buggee Seats, may just do a wrap around seat.

I would go with a stock type rear Bradley seat. A bench bottom and a padded back rest that does not rise above the rear deck. Or use individual back rests found on some motorcycles. Is it safe. No but neither is riding a trike compared to a car.

I like the way the 54 Corvette body wrapped around the seats with a push button panel between the seats that opened into the convertible top storage bin

With the seat bottom being as high as it is, the added height of the other seats put the bottom too high for comfort. I'd go with padding what's there for at least the bottoms. Would look awesome with some old-school diamond tuck on a built-in.

Working shaping the rear floor up to the shifter body section. This is what I have so far. Last picture on top of the trans you can see the 2 layer mat which is curing to use on the lower edging. Hope this will help you get ideas for your projects.
