Skip, you could drill a hole in your tubular frame and fill it with lead buck shot.

Skip, you could drill a hole in your tubular frame and fill it with lead buck shot. It will roll around front to back. It's welded as one piece.

I know because it's my idea it automatically sucks but ....... Run a fake motorcycle tank if you want to run ballast up front. Fill that with shot and cement . Remove the cap and smooth the tank for a clean look. Or you could teach a fat dog to ride up on the handle bars

My little Yoke is getting fat (15#) & love to ride on the M/C. Don't know about the handlebars though

O happy days, I hate VW. The Alt I bought was no good or I blow it up by grounding the red light. So off it came. At least I didn't have to drop the engine. But you can't get the fan off the back to get to the 2 nuts that hold it on. So tear down. Also replace the oil cooler seals now since I was down that far again. Is there an oil seal behind the crank pulley? Looks like I got a leak there also.

there is the rear main seal behind the flywheel, not sure about the pulley. I would also like to know since I'm in the process of a seal replacement which REQUIRED me to pull out my engine its good experience though

I don't think there is a seal, there's grove on the pulley to pull the oil back into the engine. Craze idea's them Germans. Remember, this designs goes back to before WW II.

Hi Skip, No, the stock ACVW doesn't have a seal on the crank pulley, only "threads" on the pulley and a close clearance to the hole in the case to "screw" the oil away from the opening and back into the case. With a little bearing wear they always tend to leak oil and also pull in dirt (or sand) causing internal damage. But......you can upgrade to an aftermarket pulley with a sand seal and eliminate the problem! Gary Hammond,

Trike running & stopping great. Ready for a road trip! Anyone who see's it, say it looks Bad Ass. The Trike is 11.5' & 68" wide at the rear tires. Pretty close to the GTII rear to front wheel. The little Yoke is ready for his ride.

Did get the shift safety switch replace & working, found on VW Vans Trans. The body will be worked on in the Fall & will post pictures on fiberglassing since all of my old pictures are gone.

I want to ride it like this for the summer instead of working in the hot garage during riding weather. Will work on the B-II Trike in the Fall. As for the Choubacka's kid brother, he love's to ride anything from lawn mower, truck to Trike, head in the wind. You coming up on your way home from the sunny State?

Got the saddle bags all braced & waiting for keys to be made. Making fenders which I hope will stay when the body goes on. Gas Tank finally was made & picked up. Not mount yet as a friend said he has a S/S tank that may fit. Made the most important part & relocated closer at hand, Tn coffee cup!

A little update. Finally got the keys made for the bags, so no more tape. Hooked up the safety switch on the trans with a used one, It worked great for about 8 starts then left me hanging at Subway. had to hot wire it. That's why it so good to build these things yourself, you know what makes it work or NOT! Finally got the gas tank & started to mount it yesterday, Finishing it up today. Built a rack for it to sit in. Note the new seat cover! The tank will fit into it & held with strips when I get some. He welded the outlet on the wrong side so gas line has to go all the way over to the other side. Also installed a radio in a boat box next to the seat & a lighter. Still need to make 4" speaker boxes to mount on the frame till I build the dash this winter. Have the slave cly for the clutch but stall need a good master on the handlebars. Works good on my friends Trike, so ones going on mine. All of the wiring is finished, hooked up the KILL switch to the coil the kill the engine. Fenders are mounted also.
