When I bought my GT, the fuel filter was plugged and ran about like that. You might want to check that first.

i am ordering a linear actuator off ebay(65) for my gt1. they have adjustable travel for limit stop. i am also thing bout maybe adding a similar set up to my gulls and hooking to my car alarm creating remote doors. Quote
Sounds like a very good way of ruining a good set of gulls. The first time you open them in a wind, good-by doors.

On a GT, the battery sits on the floor on the back seat, passenger side.

The original site bombed with a virus, so it was abandoned. This one was started to take it's place until the old one could be fixed. Really don't know it that will ever happen, but at least you found us. Really glad to hear from you. Congratulations on getting the brad running.

I know it's a little late, but did you soak them in snake oil before you tried?

Hi and welcome to the site. There are many folks here that can help, but I will give you a quick answer to your question. To have more access to the engine, you have two options. Drop the engine and work on it on a bench, or take the body off and go from there. Parts for the engine are available many places that sell VW parts, and the body is a more difficult problem. The Front glass is available, and the side doors are also available. Some of the fittings are from a boat supply house. If the body needs work, better bone up on fiberglassing. Jeff Troy had a CD that will give a wealth of Info, make a search for it. Good luck.

How will the door react in a big wind? That seems to be a killer of the plexi doors.

I noticed on my trip to Carlisle PA., one year, that I also was getting low on oil pressure. Someone there suggested 50 weight oil. I changed it on the way home to straight 50 and the oil pressure since has been OK. Hard to find in Wal Mart, but I get it at car part places. Not saying it's right, but it seems to work for me.

I was just coming home from my sisters birthday party and passed a white Toie on the corner of West and Aurora Av. Just about had a wreck wrenching my neck around to take a better look at it. Anybody owns it from this site?

It would have been a good day to "melt" the butt sag back in shape.

No, I unzip the side zipper and reach out and snap it down. The Passenger side is done before getting in the car.

Guess I forgot how to attach an picture. I like what you have done for doors. I have snaps and it is a hassle to get them snapped quickly, (like when it is raining), but is nice to roll them up and store in the back in the sun. Attachments:

How good of a seal do you have between the Pop Riveted strip and the car? Leak in the rain at highway speeds?

I notice you have a convertable top too. How do you fasten it from the inside. Mine has a zipper to reach out of it.

It would be nice if we could just auto forward the website to here. Eric A. MJ, did you notice Eric said "It would be NICE if we could? That means that he knows it can't be done, but wish it could. I think you are being a little hard on some of us. I hope we can be NICE to each other and not be so quick to criticize.

I'm not seeing the interest that more than 2 or 3 will be there, so I am scrapping the plans on going. Have fun. I'll be thinking of you. Pray for good weather this year.

I did use the velcro method. I had them made at a canvas shop and glued the carpet side to the car. Worked but I had the truck blow one off, so installed snaps at the corners and all is well.

I live on the very south end of the island. I am only about 2 miles from shamrock park. I am always up for meeting other bradley owners! email me if any of you are going to be this way. I have been driving mine around so they might have seen mine. Eric A.

So far the date is open. We'll see if it is worth the trip. I need a lot of support of Bradleys to make the 6 day trip.

Probably not as much as you would like . It depends on how good the car is, and who is in the market for one. A lot of folks would like to have one, but don't want the hassle of working on it. It is also a summer car for most of us, so not willing to pay too much for a classy toy. Ask the guys that have a 10,000 rebuild and a 4,000 paint job and can only get an offer of 5000. This is just my humble opinion. If you find the right person you may do OK, but you would be lucky.

I have a GT and stock gas tank, (10) gal, and when I hit 200 miles on the odometer, I start looking frantically for a gas station. I can get 225 on the run, but that is pushing it. I have mostly stock single port engine. Hope that helps.

I may be out of line here, so forgive me if I'm wrong. The original BradleyGT site got corrupted, and we had to leave it. On it was a lot of info about the owners and their cars. This, I think, is a temporary site until we can get the main one back. I think once that is done, a registery would be great. I just don't know if this site is the place to invest a lot of time or not. Any other thoughts?

Welcome, and glad to have you on board. I am mostly a lurker, as I know that most everybody has had MUCH more experience that I have. I bought my car road ready, and only have done a few mod's on it. New tail lights, and replaced the doors with snap on plastic. If I see a question that I KNOW the answer, I will try to help. Most of the time, I let the experts field the questions. I check the boards every day or two, now that I have found it.
