Yes, Fg is very easy to make odd shape parts. I made the pocket for the dash mounted video screen. I wraped the monitor in two zip lock bags. Took a sheet of plastic layed two pices of fg resioned them and layed on the back side of the monitor with plastic sheet on top, layed a large block of foam and applied pressure.

I will only be raising my body 1” and hopefully the front body mount will work without too much rework. If not I will take it to a local metal shop and have two new ones made . My personal opinion is that a 3 inch is a bit much. I’m just thinking of the wheel openings and the gape at the top of the tire. But that could change with the size of the wheels and tires used. Back to the front body mount, as for the 3 in lift I would have a metal shop weld an extension on your old mounts or have new ones made. If the bolt hole falls in middle of the support web I would drill a 1” hole in front of the bolt passage and grind back the hole to allow passage of the bolt, washers and or the nut as drawing shows. Grind the curvature to match the torsion tube to insure the bumper support tube is properly aligned to the bumper’s pass through holes. I have seen many of the back clamps bent up pretty bad, I would weld a 1.5” strip of 1/8” steel on the back side of this clamp. And do the pass through holes like I have shown on the front mount. Wyn

Big Bob, I’m just going to stick with my 2” web belt to hold my twoie. I can easily lift or lower and rotate it without much trouble all by myself. I just want to get my Twoie finished. I got too many health problem to work with. I now have some miner skin cancer problems. As for my Brad, I picked up a AC compressor off of a 97 KIA Sophia, to hold the compressor I am working on a cradle to mount on the fan assembly of the type three engine. I need to get new hoses for the whole AC system. From the pics it looks like Minax has a good bit of his Twoie done, how about some pics of what you have done with it. I added an another karma on your stand, great ideal. Wyn

If you use the orginal GT II seats. You can only drop the pans 1" as the outer edge of the seats will sit on edge of the glass body mount. Or use a spacer to raise the body. I used 1" thin wall square tubing. The following pics shows the spaceing around my seats. One pic shows the slider resting glass body mount, that is under that side extension on the drivers seat. I was using fiberglass floor pans on this chassis. At this time I'm trying to get the AC evaporator coil install into the dash, I having problem lines taking up too much space where the assembly will no seat properly in the dash. Wyn

The diamond plate is actually the vehicle floor. My Daughter is a 2LT in the Army stationed at El Paso, Tx, she is in charge of a heavy vehicle platoon. I’d like to build her one of the Dune buggies’ from Larrys Off road. Paint it Desert Camo and equip it with three .68 cal machine guns. One on each side and a remote control one on top roll rail. I think the diamond plate floor would deck it out nicely. Wyn

Jeff, Did you butt weld the flooring to the 1x2 tubing? If you surface weld do you grind down the rise of the diamond plate? Or do you bolt the diamond plate to the tubing with a rubber seal? I like your diamond plate flooring. Wyn

You can get your pans from Larry's Offroad in Datyon, Ohio, like I did. I drove over and picked them up. Check them out at www.larrysoffroad.com/ . Keep them in mind for other VW parts and engines. I see the price has gone up a little, I paid about $80 per pan when I got mine, but now they are $119.99 per pan. Wyn

I have a rear end for a GTE if anyone is interested. The GTE is the same as a GT II but a wider engine compartment. I am in central Ohio. My wife wants it out from under her Deck. ;D

The AC bracket bolts to exhaust manifold at the head, front and back. And the third mounts to one of the bolts at the oil breather stand.

Q4 On mine I relocated the motor and modified the motor by adding a second limit switch inside the gear housing this elimates the two limit switches outside the motor assembly and extra linkage slop. With some new mods I plan to install, the linear servo would be a better choice.

Q1 only the low beams or the high beams are on, not both. Q2 The headlight lift motor is just a windsheld wiper moter with a set of limit switches one to stop the motor when the lights are up and the other to stop the lights when parked. Q3 When you turn the headlights on the light pop up and turn off the go down, lock switch will not let the lights go up or down. You may have seen some pictures of a GT2 with the lights up and not on. users.alink.com/aeolus/B-Wiring.htm

The standard VW floor well is 19.5" wide and 1" deep. I raised the body 1" on my GT2. So that gives me 19/5" with 2" well. The GT2 seat will only drop 1" because of the extended side extension and it sits about 1/4" above the body mounting flange. I had bought a set of racing seats but they would not fit so I gave then to my son for his Bug. Another thing you need to think about is how thick is the seat cushions. The racing seats were about 6" thick the GT2 seats are about 4" thick. So you drop the floor 3" and install racing sets and gain 2" in height. Did not gain much head room in your effort.

If you have the standard GT II seat you can only lift the body 1" or drop the pan 1". The seat will not drop any more because of extra overhang of the seat. If you use a different seat less then 19" wide then you can raise the body or drop the pan any size you want.
I raised the body 1" on mine. I used a 1" square thin walled tubing ust and welded to fit. Somewere here some post with pics of the lift frame I made.

I have welded up a saddle frame to mount on the T3 fan assm. The frame will hold a 60s chrysler alternator modifyed to produce 0 to 120 volts for the hydrogen generators, . With using system pressure to regulate voltage needed for the 3 hydrogen generators. Also a AC pump is mounted on frrame

Jerry That is pretty close to what I have. The regulator is an Impco. I figured to mount the regulator on top of the throttle body assm. That is setup with a ½ hose. The LPG is only to be used to check out the engine and setup the regulator, then I’ll pull the tank and stick in 3 hydrogen generators and run the car on the hydrogen. Switch back to LPG in the winter time.

Jerry, I am using a type 3 fuel injected engine. The fuel injection system has been removed. I have a new LPG regular to use. A new LPG line runs from the front to the engine compartment through the tunnel. Can you tell what size the mixture orpheus needs to be for the injection of LPG to throttle body assm?

Dustejacket; The last time I went to a VW dealer, I was told all Air Cooled vehicle parts are no longer available, only the water cooled vehicle parts are inventoried. The door lock parts for the GT II are from a VW Rabbit rear hatch and should be available from a VW dealer. Or from a salvage yard that would have any VW Rabbits.

If you are planning to use the stock Bradley GT II seats you can only drop the floor 1 inch. If you drop the floor more than 1” that overhang on the side of each seat will not let you go any lower than the 1” and it will sit on the floor and body mounting flange. You will need a smaller seat. I used a 1” lift frame and will tilt my seat back to lower it. Wyn Click on the link --> users.alink.com/aeolus/B-intr.htm

pushnfords I would recommend to take a look at Stafford Vehicle Components in the UK and the shipping is cheap from the UK. ( www.s-v-c.co.uk/prod_switches.html ) The switches are very close in size, they are taller but a little trimming at the top and bottoms of the switch holes the switches will fit GTII panel. The reason why I recommend them the original switches are very limited in supply and one of them is nonexistent. I had a set of the switches never used they were very fragile and one already broken. jmw The main doors use the latches from A WV Rabbit rear hatch. The rear engine rear window and the gas port latches were custom made for Bradley. From the pictures in the manual you should be able to make them or have them made. You can get a CD manual from Jefftroy, Very handy CD a must have. Personally I plan to use the Bear Claw latch for the engine cover. Maybe a 3” power lift device for the rear window. I plan to cut the front hood out for access to the hydrogen generators and use the other Bear claw latch in front. Wyn
