Will the '93 Honda GL 1500 is almost back to life, May convert to trike using a Miata rear end. The '73 Spitfire need new door panel, didn't like the first set I made & install headliner in hard top. The '91 Ford Ranger was finished, but don't know why, but the clear coat spit in a number of places & look like curved pin striping. So need to re-sand & shoot some more clear. Because of this I plan on adding Silver racing strips also. Will be back to work on the Bradley SS when I get these finished. Project pictures: community.webshots.com/user/skip20Just took new picture & looks like I'm going to need a new camera, think it's been dropped once to often. Skip20

Haven't been on the board for a few weeks It's great to have this place to met friends, get help & ideas from them Haven't worked on the car all summer, finishing up on 3 other projects. Also started a new one, custom build a Goldwing Trike. You can check my picture at link below community.webshots.com/user/skip20Hope to work on the Bradley this winter. Don't know why I'm listed as New Member as I had a long post on the old board showing the work done on Bradley. Wish I could get back all of the info to repost here. Didn't save any of it. Skip20

OK! I'm back to work on the Bradley I avoided all summer. The Honda Trike build is delayed waiting for Parts. Welded the engine cross member back in lowing it a 1/2". Little bit of welding left to finish. Also lowed the trans cross member 1/2" with some 1/2" metal blocks

Staring to build new trunk lid to fit the opening, Trunk opening with the drip rail gutter already glassed in. This will be the beginning of the MOLD to glass the new lid Skip20

Getting ready to do some Fiber-glassing. This will be a temp mold for the trunk lid. Using TILE BOARD from Home Depot, I cut it to fit over the opening of the trunk. I cut the rear lip off of the old Fiber glass lid & screwed it to the tile board with bracing blocks under it. Using the brown plastic shipping tape (fiber glass won't stick to it) layer it around the outside edge, then laied a plastic sheet down. Lining up the trunk lid mold to the body, screwed it down both top corners. This will get the curve of the body in it. Then covered the back lip with the tape also making sure it was smooth. I RIPPED (NOT CUT) the 1.5oz mat to fit the cover, will be using 3 layers for this. A cut edge would leave uneven & air bubbles in the layup. Cut 3/8" form board at 45 degess angles and filed the top sharp edge down so the mat would lay over it. These will be used for bracing & covered with 2-3 layers of mat after the 1st layup but at the same time. You don't need to wait till dry or you would need to sand it down before any more glassing can be done.. With everything ready, sprayed the area with the release, this will be 2-3 coats after each coat dried. You can see the mat ready for the form bracing on top. Notice the edges of the mat . Next picture shows the release spray, cheap brush (Throw away) & the roller to smooth & remove any air bubbles. OK, release has 3 coats, dry & ready to go. Lay the 1st mat on the lid & brush in the resin, DO NOT SOAK Lay on the 2nd then the 3th.mat This is what it will look like, you can see the air bubbles as white This picture shows the left side rolled out Next (still wet) brush some resin on the back side of the form & lay on the lid. You can do it this way or make an "X". Brush on some resin on the top of the form, Start laying the mat on them, in this case 2 layers. Here it is all rolled (ROLL, ROLL, ROLL & ROLL SOME MORE) out & waiting for it to harden. Used 3 - 1/2 buckets (in picture) of resin to do all of this with a little left over. Will pop it off tomorrow. Till them, have some more coffee. It's 5Am , went out to the garage & popped off the trunk lid mold. The hard part was to brake the tile board where the 2 screws were holding it. Once off the body, the mold pulled right off & looks good. No pin holes or bubbles. You can see most of the release (green stuff) stayed with the board. Nice thing about the "PARTALL FILM #10" is , NO WAXING THE MOLD OR PLUG! Just wash it off the mold & trim the overhang. Will start new post on this when I get ready to layup fiber glass the plug for the new trunk lid. Skip20

Setting the mold up on saw horses, using the plug as a template, cut off & trimmed around the edges. I like using a 4.5" cut-off disc in a small grinder, quick & smooth. Be sure to blow out the tool when finished as the dust is like sandpaper to it. To early in the moring to take pictures All ready to go. Ripped the mat for 4 layers plus addition layers around the edges between each layer. This will gave it a stronger edge for the rubber seal to sit on. Started to spray the release, 3 coats. Got carried away glass & forgot pictures. This is all glass & waiting for it to cure. Notice min. overhand of mat, to much & it will bow the edges. Here she is all pretty! Have trimmed the overhang mat using the cut off wheel. Pretty much the same as building the mold. Sitting on the trunk waiting for a trim & sizing. Will add bracing, hinges & latch at a later time. Need to work on the gutter a little now.

The trunk lid is trimmed close. Finish fit will be sanded when ready. Here is a picture showing the lid on the trunk with the tail lights installed. Putting the lid back into the mold so it will keep it's shape, cut some 3/8" foam to mount some bracing & thinken the sides with 2 more layers of mat. Noe to the junk yard to look for hinges of some kind.

Got back to work on trunk lid. As you can see in the picture, put the trimmed lid back in the mold so it will keep it's shape. Taped up the edge of the mold so the glass wouldn't stick to it. Cut some more 3/8" form at 45 degrees for bracing to keep shape. Cut some metal plate for the hinge mount. Sanded the lid, put some resin down where the form will go & on the back of the form. Lay up 2 layers of 1 1/2 oz mat over the form & metal to the outer edge. Added one layer over the metal plate area also. Rolled it out & will check it in the AM before Turkey . Skip20

Got one mold finished & the other one drying waiting for trimming. My friend Bradley GT left side is caved in, so had to make the complete mold for that side. We will cut out the damaged area & replace it with the new panel. The right scoop mold is in the lower left of the picture. They will be trimmed with about a 1" border around them to be shipped. They will be made as ordered so may take a few days before shipping. The Mustang side scoops will bolt into these. They have a dummy plate on the scoop which can be remove to let the air in. I got my 2 scoops for $20.00 + tax at a junk yard. A little bit of work removing them. E-mail me at: skip20@charter.net Skip20

Got the Left fender replacement panel finished for my friend's GT. Mounted the Mustang scoop. With the kit you can place it anywhere you want as you will see in the next project using just the scoop mounting area onto a GTII. Once again, this is member "Bob Nilson" design & he did a good job of it. I just made the molds of his hard work & I thank him. He will receive a set. He has given his permission for me to do this & sell them if anyone may want a set.

Here are the L & R Mustang scoops I plan on using on my GTII-SS One shows the scoop in it, the other shows it cut out & ready for the scoop. The 2nd picture shows were I plan ( the black line )on mounting them on the Bradley. I would recommend mounting them a little higher to clear the plywood brace, in my case I can't due to the flip rear section. Next year I may start a new post as this one is getting a little long. I've asked if he could start adding pages as before, but no reply. Would hate to loss all the friends I have on this post, but it's just to long to get to the bottom of it. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Got bored, so started to cut & fit the driver side scoop. Should be moved up 1" to clear plywood, but as you can see in the pictures, I can't go any higher. Guess I will have to do some re-bracing someday. I see there are pages, guess I just have a long thread. I have Deleted some of the non-related items I had here, just Bradley stuff now. What do you think? Looking good, huh? skip20

hey skip great work...i just have a few question for you about the product grade, brand, and ratios you used for your polyester resin, hardener, and resin wax (if used) .. and where did you find a 5 gallon pal of polyester?? Find a Fiber Glass Supplier in your area. They should have everything you need including the 5 gal bucket or 30 - 50gal drum. I use the cheaper resin about $114.00 5 gal Don't forget the roller to get the air pockets out, $6-10.00 You could use food die (RED) in with the cat. so when you mix with resin it will show it's completely mixed. They also have the High Temp. wax (don't use car or floor wax) for your release, however I seldom use wax any long since I found the PARTALL #10. 3-4 coats sprayed on & your ready to go.

Started to make the mounts for the trunk hinges. I pop rivet thin sheet metal to the gutter (sorry picture didn't come out). 1st pict. you can see the plate behind the glass on the right, 3 layers of mat. After dry, trimmed & applied 3 more layer on the inside. Will trim & mount hinges, & set up for the rear mount on the hinge.
