It's been Long & Hard, but the tunnel is getting close to being welded back in with a 2.5" drop. Just a little more filling on the front trans hump. Will prime the weld then add the body sealer.

WOW, what a day, welding the tunnel got finished, installed the wiring harness up front, then the cross support bar & laid the whole dash on this time without trimming it, trimmed the body instead.

After 2 1/2 weeks I'm finally happy with the way the dash came out. Had to trim the body up to the 1/2" bolts holding the roof down, but now it fits door to door Also cut out the old dash up to to the windshield frame & the body sits on the dash to seal it. But the shifter is about 1/2" to high for the cover, so back to some more cutting & welding the tunnel.

A CNC Machine moves in 3 axles "X,Y & Z" with some kind of cutter or Plasma cutter. It's controlled with a computer. This is about the 8th one I've build, so not new to me. So far everything I've needed has been laying around here, but now I need to go get a few nuts & bolts the right size. The "X" & "Y" Axel are mounted to frame. Twin "X" steppers mounted. Controller & P/S will be mounted in the back were there will be dead space from the cutter. Next to mount the "X" stepper & lead screw. Update Tuesday 4:30 - 6:30 AM; trimmed the front "X" brackets for easier mount of table top. Mounted "X" leadscrew & bearing. Next to mount the "Y" stepper & lead screw. 2:45PM Both "Y" leadscrews are machined & mounted, still need to mound the rear bearing. "X" & "Y" will move with cordless drill. Now to fight the "Z" screw & stepper motor. Back to work on the Bradley next week sometime. Shifter is being a pain in the ass due to mods done on Dash.

This was going to be a light weight engraver, but with these rails could put a Small Router on it. Today was screwy day. Got the "X", "Y" & "Z" leadscrews mount & alined. The "Z" rail was an air cly which I mod to fit a screw. Had to machine a 2" disc to replace the washer ( bottom corner ) to mount the screw nut to it. Will mount stepper as shown in the AM & start the wiring so it can be tested. So far, had to get some screws, so out of pocket about $35.00, plus got to clean up a little around here. Won't be doing to much on this as there have been no comment & only one "like". Maybe a video when moving. Update, Wed 9/3/14 The "Z" is finished & mount to the "Y". More drilling & tapping holes in the Alum & have the chain belt mounted for the wiring. Mount the speed controller for the cutting motor. Started to run the wires for the stepper motors.

So after $40.00 for some 3/8" plate & 3 cuts there's a new table top & "Z" mount plate. 1st picture show the 1/4" engraving spindle mount & the motor will be mount in front, off to the side so as not to hit the uprights. The spindle is left over with about 30 cutter from my early. I Built the spring load mount for it a few years ago thinking about making a table for it. 3th picture show where the 300 watt spindle will mount. Notice the "Z" plate is long at the bottom due to the height of the uprights & where the bolts to mount it. Will also be able to turn the mount plate over, then mount a router or whatever on that end. THINK AHEAD WHEN YOU BUILD SOMETHING & DO IT IN ORDER.

Sat. day was a slow day #7. Finished building the engraver assy, mounting the motor. You may notice, added some holes in the braket to lighten it up a bit. Setup a dial indicator on it's base to check the table level, may have to machine it down a bit. Today will be running around day & setting up the table & steppers in the Mach 3 program.

Then there's this idea, would loss the rear shelf which is useless anyway. Gas tank from the GT in the back yard. Will use FORD duel gas tank switch to move between them.. I dunno Captain I'm scratchin' my head . . . by givin' up that rear shelf you're loosin' room to put your shoes n' socks. . . . And after you put the wife in the passengers seat . . .then what about that four legged thing that looks like Chewbacca where's he gonna ride? I find that shelf to be real useful for groceries, luggage and the like, hate to see you give it up! If you look at the Bradley gas tank with the body mounted, there is definitely room to make it bigger and pick up a few more gallons. Listen you're the boss, but I can't send you down any more helpers . . . they're disappearing! 800 miles without a restroom break your gonna need to put a john in the front there son!
