Well the fine folks at Allstate said they would cover the car. But they aren't cheap lol but atleast it's a well known company. I would bet there could be a whole thread on insurance horror stories .

Thanks for all the great advice You see a lot of engines missing that lower tin for some reason . The fuel filter setup with the clear lines was going the glass bodied filters aren't as fragile. Good call on that mechanical pump there is some aluminum a delete plate can be made from. Heat isn't much of an issue but better performance would be nice . Right now insurance is a priority Hagerty won't cover it Grundy wants all your cars to be covered with them. So the hunt is on for good insurance if the PO had just kept the VW title it would have been easier . I'm retired my daily driver is a 1976 CitiCar electric car and some places won't accept that as a regular use vehicle. But it will get figured out one way or another . Rich H

I've owned quite a few odd cars. And it seems each group has it's "Purists" and thats ok. The important thing to remember is it's your car and as long as it makes you happy that's all that matters. Some of the odd cars were a TVR Vixen 2 Crosley micro cars a Sebring CitiCar and this thing. Home built in a tent in my driveway so just have fun with what you have . People who don't like it aren't worth your time . Rich H
