Hello Everyone,
I know I was not present at the last big get together or Bradley owners in 2004, as that's about the time that I bought my first Bradley. I am just trying to see how many of us out there would like to get together again for say a 10 year reunion of the last meeting, and to meet new people...
There are a few people on here that are making things for Bradleys, or at least GREAT Ideas for them, such as the person who is making stripe packages, and I know someone was making plans to make up T-Shirts (if they are still thinking of it)... There are always members swapping and selling items, and why not bring those items in the corner of the garage on the top shelf along with you. This could be a great time for everyone, and a fantastic way to sell/buy items that we need or want.
Your input is appreciated, especially as to where the best location would be, for everyone... and also the time of year. I can't make this happen by myself, I'm merely making a suggestion and hopefully we can all make something out of it.
If we get a good enough response to this, I'm going to try to get "Dune buggies and HOT VWS" Magazine to come out and do a story on us, and show the world who we are. And IF they come out, we may be able to get some of our local VW Parts stores to sponsor the event, and have other makes and models show up too. Kind of like a BUG -IN only with the main focus on Kit Cars...

It should be held at a major VW event. I suggest the June Jitterbug in Niagara Falls Canada, 3rd Sunday in June. Sat is a long cruise through the countryside and town. www.johnsbugshop.com/jitter_bug_details.htmThat's me in the first pic on the right in the green Kyote buggy. This year is the 26th year. Been there 5 times, great each time, We enjoy camping so we bring camping gear, lots of hotels for those that don't handle the great outdoors too well. Great times, parties and people. I make it a 3 day event arrive on Fri evening, leave Monday morning. Every day a different group has a cruise night. For me it is an 8hr drive.

Here's another possibility. VW Funfest at Effingham, IL on June 1-3. I was there 3 years ago and at least 3 other Bradleys were as well. Lots of VW parts available as well as a swap meet. This is a big show. At least as big as the Carlisle event, and it's all VW based. And it's pretty much in the center of the country! Check it out here. funfestacvw.com/They also cater to clubs and offer discounts and other goodies. Gary Hammond,

The Mid-America show in effingham is a good show. I did talk to the guy from Hot VWs and he was a complete JAG! I asked him why there are never any bradleys in hot vws and he laughed at me and said the bradley isnt a real VW it belongs in kit car magazine! He might be right but could've been alot nicer about it!

Oh well their loss .

It sounds like Effingham IL would be a great event to meet up, and now I'm half tempted to cancel my suscription to Hot VWs (what a jerk) but I still have another years worth paid for, and I can't base an entire mag. on one person who can't accept the fact that the Bradley is what Bug owners wished they had the guts to do.
Now to try and make sure I get a few days off work around then. Hope to see someone there.
Oh yeah, I wanted to throw it out there, once my other Bradley is done, I was already planning a trip on the Dragon... some friends of mine took their bikes on it the past 2 years. Does it really have that many curves?!

Just noticed you are thinking in 2014. I thought you meant this year. Are you sure 2014 is a good idea? Apparently we need to finish things before Dec 21 2012 or we won't be able too...LOL

I thought 2014 for EVERYONE to meet, and that would give for us time to finish projects, and make travel plans...
However, I will be going to Effington this year with the '76 I just bought on Christmas Eve to meet whoever can make it. And hey, who knows, we may not make it past 12-21-2012... and in that senerio, I want to have had the chance to meet some of my Bradley Family. No matter what, I will be spending the enitre day of 12-21-2012 IN MY BRADLEY!!! If I'm gonna die or be raptured, or whatever may happen, Want to be in the place that makes me happiest that I have ever been.
Hope to see you all at Effington this year. -Bob

OK, I sent a email to Funfest in Effingham, IL. Let them know that several club members have shown interest in attending this year. I asked that they set aside a area for Bradley GT's. You can go on line and get registered at Mid America Motorworks. When I get a email back I will post what I find out. This is a fun event in Souther Illinois, and the draw a large crowd and have the room for more. I look forward to meeting you Bradley GT owners Kensaw210

it would be 1710 miles (one way) for me and though it does take place a week after I absolutely have to be here at the school - with my schedule this spring it is unlikely I could prepare my Bradley, which I am wearing out more quickly than restoring right now, for the trip. It is not likely I will make it. Shore would like to though. Maybe I'll just use some of my credit card miles and fly out to visit. Sincerely,
