Found 2 more post on The Samba Site & it looks like he stopped soon after working on the rear roll bar. It's a shame that everything has gotten rusty. Won't be able to get it off the trailer for a few more day due to the rain, could never get my trunk out of the hilly back yard. Look like the frame got finished less the rear shocks.

Sorry, it went from someone to the guy I got it from. Don't know how long ago. Would help to see if he has or can get the papers for the frame. Good to hear he's still a round.
Yes did get the red engine & black Trans, they said it had been rebuilt. Saw Rod take the engine apart w/ son, but that's it. Any history on this.
Not sure which way to go w/this yet.

Here is a very sad case. Many of you may remember Rod Stone Bradley GTII Flip front end back in 2009. I do, as it was the reason I Flipped the front & rear of my Yellow GTII. This show up on the Bradley Facebook link & after 600 mile drive to Ohio, 2 hours to load it up & 15 hours later, it's now here in Knoxville TN. He did alot of work on this & I always wondered what happen to it & him. Two of his old video showed back up on YouTube in April, but that was it, no more word about about it. It's in bad state & not sure what I will do with it as yet. Sorry to report the W/S had a 6" crack in the lower left corner, other wise in good cond. It's sitting outside in the rain still on the trailer. Here are the pictures from Facebook & I knew what & where it came from right away. here are the two old video www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0vPkrJlM5Uwww.youtube.com/watch?v=o0vPkrJlM5UGary Hammond did alot & very good machine work making the 2 front flip hinge plate. By the way, it still works & flips with the elec. ram. Look what I found on You Yube, YouTube is GREAT!!!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr9Gojvt6ENow to see if I can find someone here in Knoxville.

So far so good. After a lot of measuring, figured out where to drill the mounting plate. Did one then checked it again, then screwed to two together & drilled the other one. Mounted them back on the car & checked again! Looking great. So installed the R/S bracket with new O-ring & seal in the kit, slipped on the rotor * mount the Caliper. FITS REALLY GOOD. Need to machine 4 - 0.366 spacers for them * work on the E-Brake handle & cable. New S/S brake line are coming in. Went from a 32mm piston to a larger 37mm. Was able to use needle nose pliers to screw the piston back in on the L/S. Rally to mount that side.

ALL RIGHT!!! Disc Brake kit came in. The front setup is pretty much straight forward. Added new bearing & greased them up, install with new seals. The rear I thought I would need to make the mounting holes longer to fit the different CALIPER. BOY, was I surprised & happy when I saw the rear mounting bracket. It's longer then the one I got for the Trike & guess what? Looks like all i have to do is drill the holes as the treads on on the caliper. There is a small gap that needs a spacer washer which I hope I can find at ACE Hardware. And here it is with the floor jack holding it up. So, drill the holes, mount the bracket & VW plate with new seal, slide on the disc & measure for the spacers needed. NOTE: do not push the brake pedel or the E-hanle when the calipers are off. I now need to get the piston pushed back in with a special tool.

OK, bigger engine with more HP, NEED better brakes then what the Bug has! Ordered front Disc brakes & will mount then as is. $259.00 Ordered rear Disc brakes w/o the e/stop, then w/o the CALIPER also, so just the Disc & mounting hardware. $270.00 -$75.00 for CALIPER & shipping cost. $195.00 Shipping was the killer at $55.00 each set. Junk yard run, 2002 VW Passat rear brake CALIPER (has new pads in them) with larger pistons, Brake line, E/cables with handle $50.00 & 1.5 hours to get them off. Cleaned them up a little after I got back home. Will need to mod the CALIPER mounting brackets to fit these. Stay Tune, as if these work out good here, will do the sane to the VW Trike rear brake.

Here are pics of what I have wire wise. I think the yellow wire wire should be on the long bolt (which should be short) so it goes to ground, then to the button plug on the right in the picture. You need to run a new wire from the center on the horn ground & Batt. pos should be at the horn. The horn is HOT all the time. Most Horn buttons (one wire only needed)are grounded to the column, then the center wire would go to the button down to the horn. A ground wire would be on the long bolt to make the column Ground. Try this, take the yellow wire to the horn, add the ground jumper on the metal side of the rubber (long bolt). Ground the right button wire to one of the wheel bolt. then yellow wire to the center.

That's a kool trike, how does he separate the jet ski from the wheels? Or doesn't he? No engine, it's storage & a beer cooler. Up to VA this weekend, for a GoldWing Rally as a vender, looks like it's going to be a wet one.
