Im about half way through wiring up my GT1. The stock wire harness is still in it but much of the wires had been disconected. All instruments are wired up and now working on the headlights and blinkers.
My flashers / blinkers work but they dont blink on off, just stay on solid. I have the yellow wire from the 2 way flasher running down to a toggle switch which sends the power down the line to either left or right blinker or middle position for off. Has my 2 way flasher gone bad?
Also i have a question about the low/high headlight relay. Can i discard it and simply use a toggle switch instead of having a push button for low/high? My push button is beyond useable and im not sure exactly how it should be wired up anyway. This is my first time wireing up a car from scratch so im not exaxtly a pro.

I cant seem to find the chasis numbers on mine. I have the body removed and the interior is completely gutted. No numbers on the tunnel at all. What gives?

So how many wiring cuircuts is everyrbody useing?
Ive been eyeballing some wiring kits on ebay that come with fuse boxes and plenty of color coded wire. Im thinking 8 cuircuts might be enough since i dont plan on anything but basics and maybe a radio and heater.

On a GT, the battery sits on the floor on the back seat, passenger side. Aha, thanks for the info. Ill look a little closer in that area.

No pics yet. Need to dig all the leaves and junk out of the pan and get it dried out still. I had to stop at the car wash and blast all the ice and snow off it on the way home. Its a mess at the moment.

I picked up a Bragley GT last weekend, no idea what year the VW chasis is or the body. Had been sitting outside for two years with no T tops and no rear windshield. The interior is gone except for the gauges which are all hanging by their wireing. Luckily for me someone has allready lowered the pan by a few inches, im 6' 205lbs and when sitting on the pan my head is about an inch above the roof. The body is in great shape other than it needs a paint job. Suposedly it was driven before being parked so im hopeing the chasis doesnt need much work. I also have a 1800cc 12V VW motor that was pulled from a running car about a year ago that should be a drop in fit.
Im thinking i should start this build with the wireing. But im allready stumped. I cant find where the battery is suposed to go, where the heck does it fit? No main wire cables hanging out anywhere. The wireing in this thing is a mess.
My plan is to do the wireing, then get the engine in and running, then get the interior to where its at least driveable and the rest can be done a bit at a time.
Also i sent a paypal payment last night to mr Jeff for his CD manual. But untill that comes in im sure ill have a few questions.
