Hey Everyone,
I am curious what you guys have used for flooring in the past? I do not want to put carpet in my build because I have no plans on getting the gullwings and we have pretty wet weather in Florida this time of year.
I was thinking of some kind of rubber material or a line-x type product but I wanted to get some opinions.
Thanks Donnie

I put truck bed liner on my pan before I put carpet down... just in case it gets wet.

Yeah I figured there was nothing wrong with putting down a truck bed liner of some kind. I just did not know if there was maybe a rubber mat type material made for a vw buggy application or something.

If you use anything that doesn't bond to the metal it will trap water and cause rust out.

I have 3 street legal buggies with no tops, I use indoor /outdoor carpet fastened with contact cement and a couple of spots where excess water can drain. One buggy has the plastic moulded seats that become a birdbath when it rains so in that one I have a bailing bucket for the seats. I live in Northern Ontario, not as warm or sunny as Florida. No problems with it rusting out as things dry out. Also I do not use stock floor pans. I replace them with plate steel that is 1/16 to 3/32 thick. I tried aluminum diamond plate "floormats" bolted to the floor on one but it scratches too easy and looks like hell. On my 74 Thing I have duckboards, small strips of wood that make up a floor mat. They are screwed to the floor. The floor has drainage holes in the low spots.

Rubber mat would probably just retain the moisture. I use Herculiner and coat it all. It will make it impervious to moisture.
