Hi everybody! I just found this website. I lived in Puerto Rico, and had a Bradley GT on a 1974 volkswagen super beetle chassis since 2007. The vehicle was running when I bought it, but then the generator blows off. As I am no mechanic, the car went to a mechanic...were it sit for more than a year! I do not want to kill the mechanic, so I rent a towing truck to get my car out of there...incredible, the car went running to the mechanic, and get out in a tow! Well then, the car went to another mechanic...were it sit for another year, as the guy get divorced and lost everything. I want to think it was just bad luck Then I put the car on my backyard, and rest there for a while, because I had being passing some financial trouble lately. But, I feel it is almost time now, and I probably would start to work on the car again. I am planning to do the paint job by myself, just my first paint job after I paint my old wooden outboard motor classic puerto rican boat. Let see how it goes, it is nice to be here, I hope everyone is just fine!

Hi, Riki,
Can't tell you how to post photos (too may ways), but wanted to give you a warm welcome.
Generator replacement is a pain, but not that difficult. The book I use for all my engine work is "How to Rebuild Your Air-Cooled Volkswagen Engine" by Tom Wilson. It's available through J.C. Whitney and almost every VW retailer, online, mail order or storefront.
GREAT book, with every laid out for you step by step.
Good luck with your car, and warmest regards,

Hi guys, I feel very welcomed, thank you very much. My english is not always to be good, because here in Puerto Rico we talk in spanish, and english is a second language seldom practiced. So I apologize in advance for my language limitations, I will do my best.
Big Bob, I will try photobucket in a couple of days, to check if I can post some pictures.
Jeff, thank for your advice. I may consider to start a mechanic career! Well, just kidding, I don't know if I am going to try to fix the car by myself, or learn how to do it. I am that kind of guy that had being all of his lives between books, although I do some minor manual things like fiberglass repair (in boats, as an islander and sailboat lover), but never do mechanics before, never. I had change motor oil one or twice, and change spark plugs, but nothing more.
I know that the volkswagen mechanic is supposed to be simple, but I am a complete ignorant. So we will see...do you think I should go for it?
Stevew, I see what you said, I spend the evening yesterday reading this website.
I am a big volkswagen fan myself too. My first volks was a 1970 Type III squareback, in bad condition, I just love it. One time the car broke, so I leave it sitting on a rural street for a week, and the local government tow it as trash...pretty sad.
My second volks was a 1969 baja sand bug. It was an awesome experience.
Then I bought a 1974 white super beetle. It was the first car that my son ride as a newborn (1995). Since the super beetle I haven't had any volks until the Bradley, which I bought in 2007, as I said before. I just loved the car...as a teeneger I always saw this beautiful car parked on a house...now I know that it was a Bradley.
I had abandoned the car the last couple of years...I expect that my economic situation will improve soon, so I am willing to start to work on the Bradley again. My original plan was to let someone else do the mechanic, and then go for the painting myself, as I had being lately working on a boat, and think that maybe should give it a try. But first I am going to paint the boat, and see how it works, and then probably go for the Bradley, I promise that all of you will be well informed.
Thanks by everything, I am starting to fell some strange feeling like a "Bradley family", so that is good. Have a nice day everyone; riki freytes.

Yes this is like a family of people with a passion for Bradleys.I,like a lot of people on here I am sure, already have more in the car than what it is worth and plan to put more into it.But that is the beauty of these cars,It is not about the worth.I don't think you will see too many of these at Barrett - Jackson auctions. It is about the individuality and the pride we have in them.Just look at the pics. There are no two anywhere near the same.Have fun with your Bradley. That was its design.
