If the Rapture occurs tomorrow, I wish everyone the best of luck. If it doesn't happen, I still wish everyone the best of luck. Whether it happens or not, if I am one of His elected people to ascend, I am gonna be pissed that I never got to finish my bradley and drive it.

I am not a religious man but it would be my thought that if and when the time comes not a one of us will know about it. There will be know warning.

In any case, by 6pm I will reunite my immediate family member by the Bradley. If anything will happen, we will be together for the journey with special wheels.......

I am not a religious man but it would be my thought that if and when the time comes not a one of us will know about it. There will be know warning. You are partially right. I guess I am what some would call religious (though Christianity has religious components - practicing certain rituals and proclaiming/adhering to certain standards - that is not what determines ones eternal destiny, that is an issue of putting trust in God's provision). The word rapture is not actually in our current Bibles, it was in the Latin vulgate for the "great snatch" talked about in the Pauline letters and by Christ himself in the gospels. Not all Christian denominations agree that there will be even such a thing as the rapture, but the dispensationalist view which does include the event seems to have the least amount of issues with respect to the most literal interpretation of the overall Bible. Jesus said no man would know the ¡°day or the hour¡± and did warn against putting any stock in those who did declare such. However, we are told we could know the ¡°season¡± or ¡°generation¡±, if we were discerning - so one does not have to be so quick to dismiss those who suggest a range of time for the occurrence. Some things that indicate ¡°the season or generation¡± include: 1. Increased frequency of wars and natural disasters (a bit vague for time setting, but will be observable) 2. Israel becomes a nation after many years of its being dispersed all over the world and occupies Jerusalem again (can read Bible scholars who wrote books before 1900 declare this had to happen before the rapture could take place or Christ would come back) 3. The world will have to have a way to ¡°buy and sell¡± using numbers rather than physical currency 4. There will be at least plans to rebuild the last Jewish temple in the original location and resume animal sacrifice rituals (previously declared next to impossible due to the ¡°Dome of the Mosque¡± thought to be on the original site. However, some fairly recent archaeological finds indicate that the temple site is actually to one side of the Mosque, which is puts the Mosque in the courtyard. Very interesting since the Bible says in Revelation 11:2 that the last temple will not have the courtyard because ¡°it was given to the Gentiles¡±) There are other indicators, but this post is already getting too long. Note that items 2 & 3 were not possible until recent years. There are three different numbers used for a ¡°generation¡± in the Bible - 40 years, 70 years and 100 years. So, a reasonable thought would be that it could occur by about 2068 (100 years after Israel reoccupied Jerusalem in 1968). However, if Obama gets his way and forces Israel to give up Jerusalem (back to 1967 boarders), it kinda messes up this ¡°guestimation¡± with respect to the time, but not the fact that the event will occur. Warmest Regards in Christ,

Supposedly he added up a bunch of numbers from the Bible and came up with a date, which I believe was sometime in 1996, then when said day came and went and no rapture, he re-calculated and said he made a mistake in his additon and the new date was yesterday at 6 pm. I figure if you add enough numbers together in the right amounts, you can come up with any date and time you want. I typed Rapture into google and randomly picked a site to look at, and whoever wrote what I was reading was about 2 cards shy of a full deck. here is the link if you wanna check it out. Reads like an advertisement for a cult to me. www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebiblefellowship.com%2Foutreach%2Ftracts%2Fmay21%2F&h=0eef6

There is always this one coming up.
Dec. 21, 2012, the Mayans "predicted" the end of the world with one of their calendars. On this date, doomsayers assert that Earth will be ravaged by a smorgasbord of cataclysmic astronomical events -- everything from a Planet X flyby to a "killer" solar flare to a geomagnetic reversal, ensuring we have a very, very bad day.

Note the key word in my extended post above was by 2068. Anything that has to happen before the rapture has happened or could quickly happen.
But, dawgdk is right none of us are guaranteed another breath, so we should be ready all the time. Problem is most people equate going to heaven to "being good" instead of having a relationship with the Lord.
Yes, it is too bad people hurt the credibility of the Bible and Christianity to get personal attention by exploiting the sensationalistic nature of the idea of the "end of time".

Looks like I am on the southbound express route. Whenever I enter a church I look out for lightning bolts. So far none have hit me. Maybe that is a good sign.

I can't say that I am a religious person, but I am spiritual and I do believe in God. I read the bible and try to follow its teachings as best as I can. I try to live my life as the best person that I can, and I try to have faith, I can't do anymore than that. I was kinda hoping for the rapture though. Not that I am in any hurry to get to heaven, but just so maybe some of the idiots I know would be taken. I say that we all get our bradleys done and make plans to get together for a huge party before the end of the world in 2012.

That Mayan calendar ending on Dec 21, 2012 is a singularity. It ends on that day because there was no more room on the stone. Other Mayan calendars at other sites go as high as 5500.

If this thread has got you thinking about spiritual/eternal things and you want to know more about Biblical Christianity, below is a link to a letter(essay) I wrote several years ago to someone I had talked to about it. While I do not claim to be the authority on this, I have spent a good deal of time investigating the subject. Also, if we could completely understand God and what He does now, then we might get bored in heaven. Not going to happen. www.swrnet.life/BasicChristianity.pdfIn Christ,

Wonder if they have Bradley's in heaven, and if we'd get into trouble swearing at them as we try to keep them working? Glad the end did not happen as I have way to much to do on mine, and to do in my life before being snatched up to live in clouds.

Very much a false idea that heaven is sitting on clouds, playing harps.

Whew, that's a relief, I can't stand harps. Electric guitars, bass, or drums I am there, but harps? No thanks.
