many remember the posts big al (stray cat) had about taking a power window regulator and attaching it so his concealed headlight doors would open electrically. well, he said it took 15 minutes. it probably took me 2 days! but i got it. hope these pictures make sense. the first pic shows a unit a got from salvage. originally i planned on using the slider gizmo, but gave up on that. took up too much space. here it is mounted under the car just to the rear of the front axle. attached one end of the wire to the existing cable. attached the other end to a spring to keep it tight and a bump stop to keep it from going too far. hope this helps someone, because i thought it was a great idea. the old mechanical way is ridiculous. still working on where to mount the switch... big bob

Bob, I really like the way you come up with elegant solutions to those nagging "just not quite right" ways that some of things were done on the original Bradley GT design. Your web site reflects that same philosophy, simple and clean, but very effective in communicating what you are doing. I gave ya a karma for good work!
BTW, I think I see a tennis ball basket in the background. Are you the tennis player or someone else in your family? If you, how did you start? How long have you played? Do you still play consistently?
Warmest Regards, Steven

hey steven,
thanks for the karma. yeah, i can be a perfectionist. it doesnt have to be fancy, but it needs to be done cleanly. i'm all about simple, but clean. i hate seeing good ideas half way done on a car. but, each car is unique.
as for tennis, well i guess we're all into it. my wife was bigtime in h.s. and college. i played a little, then a lot with my wife. now my kid (17) is on the tennis team, so we're all playing more lately. it's fun excercise......
BTW, i'm learning a lot from your gullwing door modification. also bob (eieio) has started some good work, but i guess that thread is long gone.
i'm determined to make a good summer door (top only) and then later create a square tubing frame that would also support a full side of plexi. stay tuned.... big bob
