Hello All,
Does anybody have or know where to get the font end and rear alignment specs for an IRS VW chassis?
Thank You, Tony O.

Thank you jspbtown.
The info is very much appreciated.
Is the Dan Macmillan who posted the info on The Samba the same Dan on this site?

Dan,
Excellent work on your current GT2 project.
Once I get all new bushings, ball joints, etc. installed on my spare pan, I want to take the pan minus the body and engine / trans in for a 4 wheel alignment.
The rear torsion bars will be set at stock settings. The front has height adjustable beams.
So my questions are:
How much scrap steel should I put on the pan to replicate the finished weight of the car to set the front height and have it aligned?
Any recommendations on what the front height should be?

I recommend you hold off until the car is finished. You would have to replicate the total weight of the body and all components AND the front to rear distribution of the parts. Ride height of the front and angle of the pan will be determined once the car is complete. If you set the alignment now then noticed the front sat too high or low, the caster will change if you readjust the ride height, due to the angle of the pan. If you then adj the caster or camber it will affect toe. Meaning another alignment. Ideally the pan should sit level when finished or slightly lower towards the front.
