I have a question for GT-II owners. While going through my manual and Jeff’s CD, studying the fine details and finishing work to do on my Brad. I need to get it all together this year. My question is do any of you GT-II owners get much road dust and exhaust fumes into your car? The reason I ask, is on Jeff’s CD for the GT II, There is an installation feature I do not like. A 2 7/8 inch heater hose is mounted from the airpod and bottom side of the chassis. The when you use you fan or the AC fan there is a negative pressure in the airpod which can suck any road dust, exhaust fumes. Even while parked, small varmints can jump up and craw into your air system. All I am going to do is drill two small holes so I can run two drain tubes out and down from the AC evaporator assembly to let the water drain out. No dusty air in. Wyn

Wyn: this might be an opportunity to contrive a HEPA filter box, with a fine screen to keep little critters from going into the tube. As you know, a proper HEPA filter really works (but does not filter out gasses without a charcoal layer).

You may pick up exhaust from the car in front of you when stopped. Doubtful when moving. If you choose to eliminate it you will have to open the backs of the 2 rearmost hood louvers or provide another way for fresh air to enter the box., non AC only.
If you are running AC and your evaporator is in between the 2 halves of the "splitter" you will have to drain that as well. Also if running AC you should install the hose described but lead it into the car so you are recycling the cooler inside air instead of cooling the hot outside air and do not open the louvers. Just like factory cars do.

My GT-II body has a larger opening for the fan. With the fan cover installed there is a 3/4" by 27" opening above the fan cover so I do have the ability to curculate cooler air.
I was going to try to close this opening and that is why I was looking through the manuals to see what alternatives I had. I need to find a way to get fresh outside air in and be able to open and close as needed.
I have been debating about using servos on the two rear side windows where they only open about two inches at the rear edge. Only the glass is on the small size and may be too fragile to work.
Those two small vents under rear window don't really work unless you can replace the air as it is expelled. The GT-II does not have good venting for fresh air.

I could drive around with one of these on But it would look better if I used two of the filters from the mask make a cavity to mount them on the sides of the airpod run the hose to the back side of the finder. Make a port for the air to come in from the sides for the fenders and cover them with a decorative vent cover. Wyn
