I ordered a empi pump with filter. I had to pry old pump out of case but the new one the pump slides right into case. My friend said he never seen one not have to be tapped in.it is correct pump for my type cam. Any ideas?

As far as I know the pump should be a slight interference fit in the case.
Maybe use a micrometer to measure the O.D. of the two pumps and compare them?

Empi quality is really hit or miss.
It should have to be tapped into the case.
