Other than the handle, it is complete. It looks to be assembled right. It just bolts down directly on top of the chassis, with nothing under it. It is spring loaded sideways so to access reverse you simply push harder to the left. It is a short throw shifter but is not a good design as there is no reverse lockout. I have been using the 15-80501 - SCAT DRAGFAST DUAL T-SHIFTER ANGLED 46-67 BEETLE / GHIA from www.cip1.com on my last 3 builds. They are a fantastic unit. Note the year is 46-67, after that they are straight instead of angled. Year is not important. They all mount the same and fit all years. The year listed only determines the shape of the shaft.

Well, I think you just sold a shifter! lol I asked the owner about the shifter and he wants a reverse lockout. Most people on Samba seem to like that one too even if they have had to modify it slightly. Guess I'll add it to the order list.
