I picked up a Bragley GT last weekend, no idea what year the VW chasis is or the body. Had been sitting outside for two years with no T tops and no rear windshield. The interior is gone except for the gauges which are all hanging by their wireing. Luckily for me someone has allready lowered the pan by a few inches, im 6' 205lbs and when sitting on the pan my head is about an inch above the roof. The body is in great shape other than it needs a paint job. Suposedly it was driven before being parked so im hopeing the chasis doesnt need much work. I also have a 1800cc 12V VW motor that was pulled from a running car about a year ago that should be a drop in fit.
Im thinking i should start this build with the wireing. But im allready stumped. I cant find where the battery is suposed to go, where the heck does it fit? No main wire cables hanging out anywhere. The wireing in this thing is a mess.
My plan is to do the wireing, then get the engine in and running, then get the interior to where its at least driveable and the rest can be done a bit at a time.
Also i sent a paypal payment last night to mr Jeff for his CD manual. But untill that comes in im sure ill have a few questions.

No pics yet. Need to dig all the leaves and junk out of the pan and get it dried out still. I had to stop at the car wash and blast all the ice and snow off it on the way home. Its a mess at the moment.

On a GT, the battery sits on the floor on the back seat, passenger side.

Leonard is correct...but it really can go wherever you want to fit it! Up front helps with the weight distribution.
Gut all wiring. Do it once...do it right. Think why the wiring is like that...someone felt like cutting a corner, which made the next owner have to cut a corner, which made the next owner cut a corner...until the car doesn't run. Then the owner is frustrated and parks it to gather weeds.
When you take the body off do a body lift. That will add a good 3" of headroom.
