Ok, I just got a call from the guy thats doing my rollcage and he gave me the unfornutate news that my roof has to come off to proper finish the welds. I was really hoping this wasn't going to happen because my windshield is cracked and I don't want to risk making it worse as I don't have the money for a new one. Now, I've never taken the roof off a Bradley before, and it appears that I can unbolt it from the body and pull the whole section off with the glass still in it? Or does the glass have to come out?
Thanks, -M

Hi Mike, Don't know the answer to your question, but figure the windshield might break either way. Wouldn't it be easier to just lift the entire body off the chassis to do the welding? Gary Hammond,

when i took my roof off, it was just the 5 bolts up front, and 8 screws on the rear pillars, BUT, i did it with the windshield out for fear of cracking it. good luck. big bob

Hi, Mike,
Don't know about the Twoie, but the roof can come off the GT with the windshield still mounted, Just be careful how you handle it because the windshield frame can sag dramatically from the weight of the windshield where the frame meets the forward end of the T-top centerboard. Try to have a helper or two handy.
There should be seven (maybe nine?) carriage bolts along the lower lip of the windshield frame, with washers and hex nuts under the body. The two outer bolts' nuts and washers are accessible from under the front fender wells, and the others are accessible under the dash. It's one of those "feet up and out of the car, and head and arms under the dash with your back kind of on the seat" deals, and it completely sucks.
In stock configuration, the rear pillars are each held by four self-tapping screws.
The biggest problem with top removal is getting the headliner upholstery out from under the side panel and dashboard upholstery without tearing anything in the process. You will probably have to remove the outer screws so you can lift the edges of the jump seat upholstery.
Work carefully, and don't forget to disconnect any wiring if courtesy lighting or other accessories are installed in the T-top.
Warmest...

Mike: On a GT2, the lower lip of the windshield frame is part of the body, the other 3 sides are part of the roof. Since most likely you can't get the car to a glass shop, the next best bet would be to have one of those mobile glass installers stop by the shop and use his expert skills to pull the rubber moulding holding the glass. When it's ready to go back in use the same glass person. Trust me, I've broken a vintage windshield only once to realize no matter how slow and careful you go, if you don't know glass, you're definitely going to crack it. I'd leave that one to a specialist - since also it's already got a problem. Good Luck! Mike Horen

Just to clarify, I don't have a GT2. Its a GT. I also took the headliner out a long time ago which will make that part easier. Seeing how my car has been painted for a couple years now, I hope this process doesn't mess up any part of that...keep your fingers crossed.
