Bought an unfinished GT2. Not certain how smart that was, but here we go. Seems like most of it is there.......no windshield though...from what I read here thats gonna be a challenge. Maybe Skip20 will commercialize his 280Z adapter, one can hope anyway. I think what I will do is pull the body off whatever VW is under it and put one of known vintage instead, one with an automatic transaxle. Your thoughts on what model/year bug/beetle donor car will work ? Thanks in advance...great site, Alex

As you appear to want an auto-stick your choices will be limited....anyone you can find will work.

An auto stick wont allow you to throw down power if your wanting to go any bigger than a 1600cc engine. Looks like a fun project, good luck.

If not, it will be another dust collector in the barn.

OK, I'll make the windshield priority #1 then. Underpowered is preferable, so auto is OK. That may sound wierd, so here is the back story: My 14 year old daughter was perusing my car magazines, commenting on this feature of that car and that feature of this car and the gull wing mercedes and "why isn't there a car that has everything I want??" Well, we'll just have to build you a car then. The Bradly came to mind as a perfect fit. I thought (as of 2 days ago) that we'd build it electric. That way I could limit top speed and range via the battery configuration. As she gained driving experience I could up the battery voltage. Well, both she and her mom shot down that idea, so now you see why an underpowered VW will be just fine 8<)

I have heard many others here say that a Bradley is NOT a car you want to have a wreck in....

I'm in Tucson, bought the car in Phoenix last weekend. I'm thinking I'll have to buy another one...between the two make one good one.

For the safety factor of getting into a wreck im building a roll cage with side bars all the way down to the front, kinda like a sand rail with a fiberglass body but not noticable. My first priority when i start driving any project i work on is safety of my wife in the passenger seat.
