Hey everyone- bought a GT 2 this summer and finally getting time to work on it. Right now I'm making a fiberglass frame work for the rear glass so that finding glass won't be an issue.
Question- I have been going back and forth about using the stock VW pan or making my own frame. What is the headroom like for a tall person?
I don't have whatever Bradley used for seats but have some after market ones that I planned to use. I know my Dad had one of the early Bradley's and he had to drop the pans to fit in it.
I also saw mentioned in here about a CD that someone has for sale? Any info who to contact?
Thanks for any help, I'll do my best to do a progress report from time to time. Jeff

Jeffs cd is money well spent I am building a custom GT2 and will be starting a thread showing the finished pan and the body work.

I'm thinking of doing the same. John

Most aftermarket seats will not fit in a Bradley. Be sure to measure, measure, measure before you buy anything. They need to be very narrow. Porsche 914 seats would be a good choice.
Dropped pans (or lifted body) is a must for tall drivers. Either method will not work with stock GT2 seats due to their design.
Making your own frame is a major undertaking. I have not seen one yet make it to the road. There may be some out there....I just haven't seen someone post anything about one that is registered and on the road on a regular basis. Plus..there might be registration and titling issues in your state. I would check those out first.

Thanks for the quick replies- I found the info for Jeff's CD. I think I will go ahead make my own frame/pan. I have the materials laying around and it won't take me but a day to do the frame and then I can drop the seats to fit me.
The seats are from a gyro plane I built that had to be skinny to fit 2x2- still have one of the original seats from my Dad's old Bradley so I am familiar with those.
I just have the body up in the air right now as I do the body work and paint so I haven't checked the seat height for me. Easy enough tho- I'll check that today so I can start thinking on how I will configure the pan area. Again thanks for the quick replies, I'm sure I'll have a few more questions as I go.

Hi,
I have CDs for the GT and GTII, but my own car is a GT.
The GTII CD has all the manual and wiring pages and updates, but I never built my GTII kit, so apart from the manuals and the extras on the CD, I don't have nearly as much experience to help Twoie owners as some of the members who have completed and are driving their Twoies.
The GT is another story, and the mileage is now approximately 635K actual. Original build in 1976, five rebuilds and one complete ground-up restoration.
I have good heat and air-co, and drive in sun, snow, rain and ice. It's a car!
Good luck with your car, and warmest regards...
