I recently bought a decimated 75 Bradley GT, with no seats, missing glass, and a load of other stuff. I have never been more excited. I couldn't find the original dimentions including the amout of layback for the original seats. Could somebody please post the measurements for the seats? I am pretty good with fiberglass work, and have made similar seats for aircraft before. I am hoping to recreate a slightly modified version of the originals. Please Help!! lol - PCc

welcome, the seats do need to lay back quite a bit for a bigger guy to clear the roof, also watch for width of seat especially when lowering the pans here's a link to some comparable... scroll to "high back plastic seats" www.dansperformanceparts.com/buggy/seats/buggyseat1.htmhope this helps.... big bob

Thank you. I know the seats need to be 19-19.5 inches wide to clear when the pans are lowered. I haven't decided if i need to lower them yet, i am hoping i won't have to, but i am 6'1" tall, which could pose an issue. Thanks aslo for the website to buy the buggy seat, unfortuneately, I am working on an ever vanishing budget, and live in washington. (not the cheapest place to ship to) if i can get the recline angle, i should be able to make it work. -PCc

hey charles, i sent that link because it showed the measurements of that seat, which i think was your original question.
also, i'm 5' 15" and my opinion is that you should definitely lower the pans.
good luck,,,,, big bob

Come up with your mounting strategy first. I recently purchased a set of stock seats. My Pans are a mess but lowering them isnt an option for me...anyways, there is no reasonable way for me to mount these things using adjustable seat brackets. They ad about 3-4 inches to the overall height of the seat, and Im 5'11...my head will stick aboe the windshield. Also, be advised that the mounting height for the left and right side (of the SEAT, not driver vs passenger) is different so your brackets need to reflect that. Im still working on a suitable mounting option....

I've said it before....you can't beat a well covered stock seat. It has the right lay back angle and the even more important head support. Plus they are low to the ground.
I am 6'2" and raised the body which made the stock seats just right.

Thanx A Lot Guys. I am looking into lowering the pans, they are all but gone, so a lower remodel should be somewhat easier. -PCc

The seats in my Bradley are 22 inches. I'm guessing they are NOT the originals? They sure are comfy though. Here's my problem. I'm about to do a 3 inch lift, does that mean these seats aren't going to fit after the 3 inch lift?
Thanks, Matt

GT or GTII? Pics would help. Here are some original GT seats in a GT with a 3" body lift.

GTII seat for sure. Is that what you have? A GTII? If so the seats won't work with a body lift.

Yes, I have a GT II. I believe if I cut off the lip on the side, I can make it fit. If not, GT I seats aren't too terribly expensive. I assume the GT I and GT II use the same hardware? Even though mine is rusty, some rustoleum and WD 40 should make them good as new.
Thanks, Matt

Alright, I was able to make the seat in my Bradley GT II reinstall with the 3 inch lift!! And I didn't have to cut any part of the seat. This saved me about $160 per seat. Woohoo!! What I did was mount the seat sliders underneath the seat instead of on the sides. This put my side measurements to 17 inches. I used 5 inch L brackets to replace the original triangular brackets. Then one side of the silder mounted to the L brackets while the other side mounted to 2 17 inch treated 2X4s mounted in the bottom of the pans. Ok, so I lost an inch of the 3 inches I gained. When I close the door I have headroom and can see more than I did before.
Thanks,
Matt

Send me a PM with a description of what you need and I can measure it for you. Derek
