Does anyone know where I can find a motor thatll fit in my car? From what I understand there arent too many compatibility issues, and since they made about a million and a half bugs finding something in my area shouldnt be too bad

Hey QQ, those leads are going to have you running all over the place. I'd go with someone who's been building engines for a few decades and has a reputation for long life and dependability. There used to be a few guys in Jersey, but if you want to travel to the Hudson Valley:

Any aircooled vw motor should work. You should be able to find one at a local junkyard/salvage yard. One of the easiest/cheapest motors to get in running condition. Put the word out through friends, relatives, local bartenders,(bartenders because they meet/know so many people that one of them or someone that they know knows someone who has the engine you need), etc. that you need an aircooled vw motor and you will probably locate one within a few days.

Of course, it depends on how much money you are able / willing to spend to get an engine for your car. If money is no object, then you can get an engine with as much horsepower / performance as you want. If money is an object, which it usually is, use the above routes and you should be able to get an engine that works for your budget in a short amount of time. If you are looking to buy an engine from a member of these boards, post an add in the classified section.

What's going on here, what just happened, where am I?? Oh wait, I am in the classifieds of the bradley boards. Thanks Brian Boggs For reminding me. Sometimes I just start typing and well you know what they say. It is better to say(type) nothing and be thought a fool than to open ones mouth( or type) and remove all doubt. I guess they are correct, because I feel like the fool right now.
