I have always used the resin I can pick up at an auto supply store or even Home Depot. Now if you need a large quantity that may not be practical.

At the supplier you want to get 1.5 oz mat, resin w cat, & 2-3 rollers. Hardware store get the cheap 2" & 3" paint brushes wood handle & some plastic buckets for mixing, I like the peanut butter jars for small mix. The new thin milk jars will melt though.

I like the small aluminum foil baking pans (like little mealoaf pans). I get them for 10 cents each.

Okay here are my choices of mat they sell. Lets say I wanted to make my own decklid, extend the rear down a bit, modify the rear window so it will accept something flat, make some doors and lower and flare out the fenders for a more aggressive look(http://images.craigslist.org/3ne3mf3oc5V45W55U3a8497c74efef74013a6.jpg). How much of what would you recommend?
This is their offerings C87-4668 3/4 OZ. X 38IN. MAT 1.95 C87-4706 3/4 OZ. X 50IN. MAT 2.72 C87-4725 3/4 OZ. X 60IN. MAT 3.56 C87-4856 1 1/2 OZ.. X 38IN. MAT 3.23 C87-4877 1 1/2 OZ. X 50IN. MAT 4.20 C88-5257 1 1/2 OZ. X 4IN., MAT TAPE 5.47 C88-5270 1 1/2 OZ/SQ. FT. X 10" MAT TAPE

so im going to venture a guess and say 1 yard = 3.23
or rather 1yard up to 3.33 yards is 3.23 total or is that per yard ?
which would mean 3 yards would be 9.69$? so the quanity is discounted as it gets bigger?

so if im understanding that right 85 yards at 1.88$ would be 159$ so a roll would be about 170$

I have a roll like that. It has lasted my 8 projects and probably has another 20 projects in it before I could ever use it all.
