Just curious What weight/brand oil do you guys run in your bradley gt's. I currently use what the last owner used (pennzoil 10w30) Is there a better weight to run? I find that I am losing pressure / overheating a little on the hotter summer days and it wants to stall until it cools down. I know that there are oil cooling routes that I can take (add on parts) but would a different weight oil help at all? Thanks again.

I noticed on my trip to Carlisle PA., one year, that I also was getting low on oil pressure. Someone there suggested 50 weight oil. I changed it on the way home to straight 50 and the oil pressure since has been OK. Hard to find in Wal Mart, but I get it at car part places. Not saying it's right, but it seems to work for me.

Hi, I did some extensive research on the internet and found the some VW sights the way to go with oil has a lot to do with the Weather temprature of where you live. But the bottom line for me was to cover the temp range her in MI. I went with Castraoil 20-50 weight oil all though there was some on the internet that said for older VW's a 20-60 weight would be good. On two sights it said to stay away from 20-40 because there is something about the how the make that weight. Took my Bradley GT to the Dream Cruise in Detroit last night I had alot of time idleing or crawling at low speeds up and down Woodward had no problem with the 20-50 weight. Hope this helps

What oil temps and head temps are you running. Are your thermostat parts all installed. Are all of your cooling tins in place. Most importantly, is your engine bay separated between the hot and cold sides.

Good info though no matter how old the post! I always wondered the same thing and used 10 40. But I think I'm going to try this 50 weight out to help my pressure and cooling.

Mobil 1 5W-30
Oil pressure 70+ pounds at start and never below 40 pounds when hot. Full-flow oil system. BTW, it is flow volume that is most important.
