Well i was wondering what the best size seats would be for the GT II. If anyone is using after market racing seats, let me know what size you went with. I've seen some that i like but i'm not sure if they will fit. Here are the dimensions: Approx. size, 38" high, 22" wide, and 21" deep. What are your thoughts?

The standard VW floor well is 19.5" wide and 1" deep. I raised the body 1" on my GT2. So that gives me 19/5" with 2" well. The GT2 seat will only drop 1" because of the extended side extension and it sits about 1/4" above the body mounting flange. I had bought a set of racing seats but they would not fit so I gave then to my son for his Bug. Another thing you need to think about is how thick is the seat cushions. The racing seats were about 6" thick the GT2 seats are about 4" thick. So you drop the floor 3" and install racing sets and gain 2" in height. Did not gain much head room in your effort.

I am still a big fan of properly done stock seats: That vertical section of the headrest is very hard to mimic with aftermarket seats.

They guy I built the car for had them custom made. H never told me how much they were or where they came from.
Yeah...the wagon back was an interesting feature. It lifted up for access to the back. I don't think it was a factory option, but it was well made. VERY heavy.

I do believe the wagon back you stated was an option of some sort. I have seen a few others a green one stands out the most that was complete. I've also seen a red one sitting in a pic on the web.
