Are there any locks I can find to replace the original locks in my GT II? The one's I have are beyond all repair. I'm talking about the pieces inside the door panel, and the piece connected to the fiberglass body as well. Forgive my cluelessness, I am in no way a mechanic, in fact far from it =)

The lock assemblies come from the hatchback of a VW Rabbit. They may be available through dealers or its time to do some junkyard diving. You can also plug in "Rabbit hatch" to EBAY and I think several pop up.
Since you state you are not a mechanic, then I will assume you are not a fabricator as well (not a jab...just an observation). If thats true, then the absolute best thing is to use what the original design called for.

Dustejacket; The last time I went to a VW dealer, I was told all Air Cooled vehicle parts are no longer available, only the water cooled vehicle parts are inventoried. The door lock parts for the GT II are from a VW Rabbit rear hatch and should be available from a VW dealer. Or from a salvage yard that would have any VW Rabbits.
