One of my buddies just finished the power windows for my GT 2 they only go down half way (all the room in the door) but they are power and use flat glass in a custom frame I also switched to automatic door openers so no door handles. I will post pictures in a couple weeks after I finish the Fiberglass work around the new window frames.

P.S. For those who are interested the power unit came out of a 99 Chevy Lumina Rear door though it is modified to fit.

Please,do not forget to post some pictures of the work. There are other members doing something alike with out a happy completion of there project. If your way is feasible to do, you will be their motivation to continue with a great sounding modification

The power window unit came out of a 99 Chevy Lumina Rear door and was used in the opposite side doors I removed most of the lift mechanism keeping only the main lift arm. The frame was made from steel u-channel that was cut in then fiberglassed in place.

To make everything fit you cannot use the old style push button locks they are in the way that is why I used electric door actuators from JC Whitney plus it really looks cool to just hit a button to release the doors. Had to use power window and door controls from a full size van on the inside.

Dean, when your friend did the power windows, did the doors still stay open and up with the factory gas struts or did he have to install stronger ones?

We used an aftermarket replacement because the struts were bad on the doors. But if I remember correctly the weight only increased about 4 pounds after we finished.
