If any of you have personal build threads or pictures saved of interiors could you share them with me please? I have a gutted interior and am just guessing what is supposed to be there.
Also, did a GT II use a factory Beetle shifter? The one for this car is nowhere to be found.

Most people upgrade the shifter to an aftermarket one. Lots of choices.
I may have some old photos of the white GTII I built back in 2002. It was a time capsule with the parts. I'll check tonight.

I have a GT II with a new, never installed interior, I will be installing it as I go along and will include all the pictures on my website. It is Tan.

you can see some of my interior at the link below. mysite.verizon.net/bobthagard1/car/go to restoration... show us your pics in progress as well... i've hit a brick wall trying to finish up my back glass. i've done f'glass and almost smooth, but not making the ledge for the back glass. any help??

big bob, i like your shifter what brand is it, mine has a very old hurst in it right now and i dont really like it

hey monk, i got the short throw from empi, its here at the top of their page... www.dansperformanceparts.com/buggy/shift/buggyshift1.htmwhen you're sitting low in the car and the "transmission" hump is high, you really want a low shifter. one member had made a cut-out in the hump that made his shifter even lower.... good luck, big bob
