Hey, my name is landen and I am new to this whole thing, but I need some help.
I have just gotten a 1972 VW Bradley GT2 in bad condition (because of weathering). The floor pans are rotted through, the windows are broken, there are no seats, and there are a few holes in the fiberglass body. If someone can please help me on where I can find parts at, I would greatly appreciate it

Ytou tube 3 channels that will help.
1.mustie 1 barn find amante gt kit car really sharp guy , and budget build vw karman ghia also his engine builds and tips and tricks .
2.wicked works vw
3.5150mxVW
all on you tube.
you can also save thousands of dollars by buying a donor since most parts are interchangeable.
I got a parts car used everything I needed cost about $450
Then dismantled it and sold the complete floor pan $200 , the tires and wheels $250 the guy that bought them changed them at my house and gave me his old ones which I sold for $40 I used the title for my project car. and am still selling misc parts . sold the door cards , the glove box door , window cranks, speedometer, and am now using the fuse box/ wiring harness. on another project.
I also sold the engine not running for $250 and went to a car show and sold multiple parts there.
Im using the heater motor for my build and selling the heater boxes. just sold the front beam for $250
In my opinion that is your best route. for saving money.
when you look for a car you want a dual port motor, Independent rear suspension. no super beetle.
a 1600 not a 1500. 1967 through 1972 would be best. good luck.

the hardest part is finding the windshield. My GT2 was short side windows and the rear window which I bought on this classified channel.
Tip if you dont need a title then a car with out a title is ok every part on that car will sell on market place.
I have about 25 items on market place right now eventually it all sells. still have a windshield wiper motor on MKT PL. 3 months now.
If I can help let me know.

Just thought of 1 more thing ....
If your buying parts and you can wait to purchase look for sales on all vw web sites.
usually labor day , memorial day , black Friday , CIP 1 VW . goes off at midnight , have a sale ( there best 1 this year ) on right now.. literally 30% off and an additional 10% off over $250 with free shipping.

Hello Landen, If your door latches are rusted beyond cleaning, you can usually get very good ones on Ebay and search Volkswagen MK1 trunk latch. You may or may not have to alter the release lever by welding on a small tab depending on how the PO built the interior pull handle.
For the fiberglass work, I suggest searching on Amazon, "polymer world". They have very good resins, and their fiberglass mat is very thick, and they give you a LOT for the money. I will use 3 gallons of resin for the one sheet of mat they send with the combo one gallon resin and mat.
A lot of people are using Lexan for the glass, I chose to go with flat tempered but hold onto your wallet if you go that route as it is better than double the cost of the Lexan. The windshield is a tough one, I just gave away a good windshield for the GT2 and only 1 person replied and showed up to get it and he was ecstatic when he saw it. I did quite a bit of work on mine and converted it to a Corvette C2 windshield. I wanted something that was readily available and inexpensive if it needed replaced in the future, or I broke it installing it.
The wiring if it is as bad as mine was, I went with a "rat rod" wiring kit and 20 place fuse kit. You can get as little as a 6-place kit. The kits are not expensive, and each wire is marked where it goes. The entire wire is marked with words on where it goes so if you cut it, you can still identify it.
As others that are more experienced than I am on the GT and GT2 have said, most of the mechanics is Volkswagen so use VW suppliers. I believe at one time Cip1 had very similar gauges.

If you have not visited www.thesamaba.com I would highly reccomend it. it is like a craigslist / amazon for VW, Porshe, Audi, Kitcar/dunebuggies, trikes... Kinda like going to Toys'R'Us for us
