Here is Part 1. There will be more coming. One of my grandkids deleted a bunch of photos off my phone by accident so there is a lot of work missing on this first video. They are just kids, it happens. I am sure you all know what is involved in rebuilding a chassis and building up a Type IV engine. More coming as my body heals, I will get more done and posted. At 60+ things slow down a little, even though my brain still thinks I am a teenager....LOL.
Don't hate me for altering this car. After 40+ years of restoring cars and keeping them original, I am letting my imagination run on this one. And YES, I know the car will not be worth what I am putting into it. It goes to my youngest son; I have no intention of selling it. 100% of the work is done by me.

Just a little on the video.
1. The windshield frame is now a steel frame that will accept a glue in C2 windshield.
2. The hood is now full length and the louvers have been glassed over.
3. The front and rear fender wells have been cut out, steel frames built with 1.5" clearance around the wheel, glassed and blended to be a nice round curve from the top to the bottom of the fender.
4. Side skirts have been added with air intakes for the engine combustion and cooling on both sides of the car.
5. The rear side windows now have steel frames to accept a seal, hinges and latch for pop out windows. Tempered glass windows are on order. Opel GT hinges and latch used.
6. The headlights have been altered to Toyota Celica GT headlights. (they can be removed and replaced if damaged)
7. Wheel well running lights added.
8. The dash has been removed and is completely altered. (next video)
9. The lower "seam" has been blended in so it will be less noticeable.
10. The top section is now permanently glassed to the lower half. NO RUBBER SEAL. and the rear "fins" have been extended to the rear of the car.
11. The rear lights are now Toyota "lambo style" tail lamps, with body modifications to accept. (more on next video)
13. Rebuilt chassis (complete rebuild including beefing up the front of the tube, adding additional tube framing below the pans, and front and rear air adjustable shocks.
14. Type 4 1700 cc engine complete rebuild (only used the crank and housing) bumped to a 2.0 and removed the dual carb setup to a single 32/36 carb jetted to the engine. (yes, I know there is a slight power loss, but MUCH easier to tune and maintain).
15. The heater blower is located inside the rear driver side fender and sealed with the intake coming from the cab, NO engine compartment air will be used for heating the cab. (more on next video, roughed in on this video)
This is work from the end of November 2023 until the end of February of 2024. I had a couple of surgeries but am now getting better and back in the garage to continue the work.
Have a GREAT DAY. Happy Building!!
