Hey guys need some help with tire size. Im ready to put new tires on my GT and want to install the biggest tires on it that I can . currently i have 14 x 7 wheels the Aluminum slotted wheels . I read in dicussion that I could install "225 75 14" on the rear but wonder how big I can go on the front? any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks Superdave008

The wider the front tire the more difficult it is to steer

The biggest fear I would have is that you'll wind up scraping something in your front fenders when you take tight turns with wider tires , alongside the steering difficulty. I don't know about the GT, but the GTII used FR78-14 tires, similar in size to 205/75-14 tires, on the 7 inch rims. If the clearances are similar (which I don't know if they are) you could probably fit a 215/75-14 on the front, without giving yourself a workout ever turn.

Thanks guys for the comments..
I finally decided on 225 x 70 x 14 on the back and not sure on the front.

I have 185 on mine and run with 16 pounds pressure. No problem here.

I have 185's on the front too. I like the 215/75/14 when I used the tire size comparison web site tiresize.com/calculator/What a cool site.
