Hello All!
My name is Paul Oborne and I am officially rejoining the club after having sold my Bradley 17 years ago. I just purchased another Bradley GT (yesterday, 8/30/2020) as I missed mine so much for so long and am excited to be a part of it all again. Here are the details of mine that I know so far:
1972 Bradley GT 1600cc dualport engine Green metal flake exterior Dark brown interior Swing axle Pop-up headlights (very rare!) Unknown chassis year, although since it is a swing axle I believe it to be pre-1968? She cranks, but doesn't fire. I'm working on that. The PO replaced the carb, ignition coil, plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, and battery. All lights work Shes gorgeous!
I look forward to being a part of the club again even though its not quite the same as it was 17 years ago. I did get to meet Jeff Troy back in 04(?) at Carlisle and see his amazing GT and plan to purchase another one of his CDs as they are the best! I had once owned a white GTII, then a blue GT.
So, hello to all and hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Paul, Welcome back to the club! I'm sure I met you at the '04 Carlisle Show, as my wife and I were there as well. Which car did you have at the show? I have pic's of about everyone that was there. Gary Hammond,

Hi Gary!
Thank you!! I'm guessing it was 04, it may have been 03. I didn't have a car there, I rode in with another club member from Ohio, Brad Dement. Neither of us were able to bring our cars. I remember it was shortly after Jeff got the chromalusion paint job. There wasn't many of us there, but I have pics of a brown GT and Jeff's, I'm thinking there was maybe a white GTII there.
I did manage to get mine running today when I got home from work, took me about 20 minutes of tinkering with the points and I found that the PO had the wires in the wrong spots on the cap. Took her down the street and she did great! Definitely replacing the shifter, its practically under the dash and straight up from the floor. I need one that comes back toward the driver. On my previous GT, I had purchased a shifter with a reverse trigger with an angle to it but it would not engage reverse. Is there one like that that will definitely work?

Hi Paul, There are probably some out there that will work, but I went a different route on mine. And if I remember correctly the shifter sits farther forward in the swing axle chassis than it does in the IRS chassis. Mine is a swing axle as well. I did some surgery on it and moved both the shifter and e-brake rearward about 13 inches. Then I shortened the shifter lever to about 6 inches in length to get a much shorter throw. It works great and is in a very comfortable position. Gary Hammond,

I ordered an Empi 12" trigger shifter from JBugs. Hopefully it works as it should!

Be sure to make note of the plate, its direction, and any instructions you get with the shifter
