I have a GTE that got about 1500 miles on the original controller and batteries and then was stored in a garage for years. I then purchased it and put in a new(at the time) controller and batteries. I got another several thousand miles but the bailing wire holding the armature together broke and damaged the motor. I had the motor professionally rebuilt(with kevlar wrap this time). When the motor was done, I had a new baby, new job, new house in new city. Needless to say, it has been now sitting in my garage for years and neither of my kids have interest.
I have no idea what this might be worth to someone but would love to see it go to someone that has the skills, time and interest to get it running again.
Let me know if you have interest,
Brad

Unfortunately I'm on the right coast and you are on the far left. Unless you are giving it away the shipping costs would be too great.

I have no idea. My wife is getting a new car and she would like to get more garage space.
It should go to someone interested in the electric.
Does anyone know what these are worth now?

It looks like they are worth about $1500 now if you can transport it.
I will try to respond quicker but have been traveling.

I have a GTII, and was just curious about battery life in the GTE. How far did the batteries actually take you? And how was the noise level?

I got about 45 miles on Lead Acid batteries. Of course the batteries in mine are shot after sitting for so long. It would easily do 90mph as well but that did shorten the range. One cool thing is that it had enough torque to start in any gear from a stop.

The noise is almost zero below 25mph. After that tire noise takes over. In mine I put a new controller in so it has a set of contactors that click and clack when going in and out of regen.

Freshening the engine in my truck so that I may make longer trips. Still interested once that is done.
