I have an internally regulated alternator installed in the 1600CC motor of my Bradley. Wondering where to connect teh "excitor" wire off the top of the alternator. It is basically only hot when key is turned to START? I don't see a connection for it in the harness in the engine bay.

I found an available spade connector on the starter solenoid and ran the wire from there to the regulator/excitor on the alternator. Works fine.

Exciting the alt is accomplished by running key on power to your dash mounted idiot light then from the light to the spade terminal on the alternator. When voltage output drops it will turn the light on.
