What is the easiest way to change out the shifter rod bushing. I am taking out the gas tank to replace it and the engine is being dropped out to clean it up and work on the engine compartment. I will have access from both ends.
Thanks for thr help

Assuming you're working on a GT2 it's not that bad. A very good time to clean-up and tkb. There are several good YouTubes on the subject one by a Brit who does it with style & grace. I found this guy to be very entertaining & educational: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Re-JiUdwYMII'd go with the regular rubber bushings on the coupler. The watchword is clean everything emery off any rust & grease the hell out of the moving sliding parts There's also this guy who claims to have a cure-all for the problem: www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1740499might be a good idea to change the bushing / connecter on the transmission end too! I made sure to use all Original German parts & was told to stay away from the red urethane couplers. Take your time and it'll go smooth! Good Luck!
