Will a linear servo actuator work to open the gullwing doors. Wondered if anyone has tried this. Just one of those of the wall ideas that hits me once and a whie.

Sure they would.
Some things to consider: 1. They are generally pretty bulky so you will have those motors hanging down. 2. Its gonna be expensive. You probably need 4 so you pull down evenly on the door so it doesn't warp or twist. 3. Some consideration will have to be done for the locking mechanism as you don't want to actuate them with the door locked. 4. A mount would have to be created that would allow easy access to remove them (from the inside AND outside) in case of power failure. 5. The structure of the door might need bracing, especially at the mounting points.
