Hello! My name is Joe, and this is my first post on the forum. I recently purchased a 1980 GT II for only $400 with a title. My plan is to convert the car to be all electric, with an HPEV AC-50 motor (71hp). There is a lot that needs to be done with this car, and I am going to redo just about everything, I'm very excited. I need help with two things right now; first, the car came with all of the rubber seals, bu they are pretty old, so what do you all recommend I do between the roof and body, I would like to find new rubber somewhere because I am not good with fiberglass or bondo. Second, I need help aligning the doors correctly, the passenger door is not far off, but with tight bolts, the driver door is way to far forward. Any tips on mounting / aligning the doors properly? Thank you ahead of time for any help!

I would look to a source like soffseal for some weather stripping.
For the doors you should search "butt sag" for answers.

Butt sag is the issue for my passenger door, but the driver door is really far off. Should I just shim the hinge?

If it is too far forward then how would you plan to "shim" it?

If I put some spacers (washers) behind the front hinge then the door should fall closer to where it should be.
