I know I wasn't able to go last time I brought this up a few years ago, hopefully this year I can. Is anyone else planning on going? If so, we can start the Club Parking registration once there are a few people planning on it. registration.funfestacvw.com/default.aspx

Just made my hotel reservations at the Rodeway Inn, about 5 miles away from MidAmerica. If anyone else is going and looking for a place to stay, that appears to be the closest and the lowest price. If you have "Choice Privilages" from the Choice Hotel chain(comfort in, Quality inn, ect), the room is $10 off the normal price when you prebook.
I am trying to setup the Club Registration with M.A.M.W. now, does anyone else plan on attending this year? June 5-7

I will be watching to see if a group from Bradley GT and GT2 is interested. I went a few years ago and there were only about 5 cars there. If enough sign up, I will seriously consider it.

I hadn't planned on going as I've gone twice before, and my car is greatly in need of a new paint job. However, if several others decide to go there's no reason I can't go as well poor paint and all. Gary Hammond,

Little nervous, this will be my first real road trip with the Bradley, about 400 miles one way... Furthest I've taken it from home is only around 40 miles, but I have put over 300 on in one day with it. Once I am able to get it out of the barn, first stop will be to the tire shop, long overdue for new rubber. The tread is like new, but i have a feeling the tires are old than I am.

WOOOOOO HOOOO! Now its time to start finishing all the little things I've been putting off. No one else seemed to be free to go, so I just did the standard package with some extras.
Now to tackle my to-do list > Get out of the barn > Pull the wheels and clean up (14" Original Keystones) > Repaint the Black part ( Gloss Black enamel? ) > Paint the wheel adapters (either silver or gold. gold will match the rear calipers - What do you think?) > NEW TIRES > Mount the CB vs having it set on the floor > Rewire horn / replace horn > Add driving/fog lights near front bumper as the "Bright" headlights are dim and havent picked a set of HID for this Bradley I like yet. > WIPER BLADES - found someone on thesamba selling 11" blades from Brazil, hope those will work. > maybe add a couple cigaret lighters/ charging ports in the rear near the center to charge my phone... > Already called Ins company to know what I am covered for if I do have issues, I have to say GRUNDY is Great! > Hotel room reserved about 7 miles away. > Have a second driver going in a separate car just in case something does happen, with two 10 gallon cans of gas.
Hmmmm, Does anyone have any other Ideas what to go over before a 400 mile trip?

Hi Guys, Is anyone committed to attending "Funfest"? The registration fee goes up $10 after the 24th. I'm going only if a few more of you are going as well. Gary Hammond,

What a week its been. And its only Tuesday... The fog lights I got are too big to fit in the opening by the bumpers, got my 11" baldes in I ordered off the samba only to discover the size i need are 12", took the Bradley into the tire shop to get new tires, and they don't carry 14" on hand they had to be ordered. That was all Monday. Today, tires came in at 8:30am so I take off to get them on and the fuel line pops off the carb and sprays gas all over the exhaust. Luckily it wasn't hot yet as I just started off. However when I pulled off the road, I hit a pothole and now my exhaust is loose ( yeah with gas pouring onto it). Got the fuel line back on, tightened the clamp a little as I had no tools. Get to the shop, and they have to wait about 45 min for a lift that can hold the Bradley without damaging the body. So I walk to the movie theater, watch the only movie that was about to come on, and get a call 5 min before movie is over saying car is done. When I get back to the shop, the tires looked good (white striped facing out :-) ) when I get in to pay, I see everyone with a worried look. Yep the gull wing got broken. The guy I showed how it worked had driven it in and back out side fine as can be. Someone else was checking it out before the wing was shut, so they tried to shut it and everyone reading this knows what happened. He pulled straight down. To top matters off, I have 4 to 5 lug adapter plates, the one stud in the big but alignment thing came out as the thing is now stripped out. I think OK this can't be much worse, and its not that bad overall. I got my 4 tires for 150 instead of the 435 or so I was looking at spending. Driving home, the fuel line pops off again in the middle of an intersection, I'm able to get to the side of the road and notice a cop the other side of the light back two cars. Got the line back on, fire it up and take off then I hear that sound with blue flashing lights ( my muffler is loose now don't forget). Oh great there goes the money I saved on the tires I think. Turns out the cop just wanted to make sure everything was OK, and what had happened. She said I've had enough bad luck for one week, no ticket but I need to do something with the exhaust when I get a chance.
Now I've got to come up with something to "fix" the gull wing within the next week. Thank goodness its a 3 day weekend.

Now let me get this straight. . . . . You get stopped by this Cop. . . . She wants to make sure everything is OK. . . . and she says to you. . . . You had enough bad luck for one week . . . . She doesn't give you a ticket. . . . . . and then tells you that you need to do something with your exhaust when you get a chance??? Are you kidding me? And all you're worried about is your gull wing doors? Cocacola, listen man we need to take you aside and give you a talkin' to. . . .

adding further downers...
So i think its a good idea to leave for effingham this morning around 1100am, should be past indianaplois by 400/430. well, that was wishful thinking on all counts.
within the first 5 miles, i lost 3 lugnuts off the right rear, and the last 2 were almost off as well. so i get my lugwrench out of my roadside kit, tighten those down, head back home, call around for lugnut for the mag wheels, and of corse i would have to buy a full set of 20 for $32 on average.
With everything telling me not to take it down, i finnaly said to heck with it, and am going in the ford escape.
with all the construction and detours, it would have made me freak out. now here it is 630 and still about 150 miles left to go.
