I cant seem to find a reasonable price on a windshield, so I'm wondering what other windshields can be trimmed and fitted. I read something about 280z windshields being adapted to fit. That do you guys think?

So cutting an inch off the top works? or did you have to shave the sides down a little too?

So cutting an inch off the top works? or did you have to shave the sides down a little too? It fits preety close, but I couldn't afford to get it cut so used it as is, also you need a NEW w/s to cut NOT a used one. I made a fiberglass w/s & walked around a lot of junk yards with it. The 280ZX (not 280Z) was the closest I could find. It has s/s trim on the whole posts. Also the corners are Squared not round off. I was going make a mold of it, but figured it may be to much work for most people to do. It fits the top curve perfect but the corners. So maybe you trim the bottom. It's been a few years since I did this & it's not finished yet & not on this summer list of things to do. Check to corners of the stock dash in the last picture. Also I have plans on gluing it in.

Finding someone to cut a complex curve windshield may not be as easy as you think it would be. Before you invest in a windshield find someone who understands exactly what you want and is willing to do it. Not just an idea of what you want done but EXACTLY what you want done.

I just read on bradleygt.org that a corvette coupe windshield from 1963-67 will work. Can anyone verify this?

That do you guys think? I found a product but have not tried it. It's call Universal Formed Windshield from Optic Armor, about $500. Can be cut with hand held jigsaw, and it's unbreakable. Just ask the guys from STREET OUTLAWS

I went to their site and could not see a "Universal Formed Windshield". Can you post a link?
Also, as kitcarguy already posted, many states would not accept this.

Good call Donnie,
still I wonder if the Opel GT (1972) is anywhere near a fit?
