Hello!
Found this while looking up info on this very cool looking unusual car. I found one for sale in my area and was all excited about it until my father came along. You see I grew up around vw's and owned many myself doing almost all my work. I know with one around I will never be without transportation. So how cool is it that I found a VW wearing an awesome body like that? Oh no my dad goes off about how they leak, how the doors never fit, how since it was home build the wiring is a mess. It is very straight, primer black, they say it is all there, just needs a little tlc. From the pictures it looks pretty good and I have no issue working on it. It is a 1981 and they want 1800 or offer for it. So can you give me ammo to use with my father as to why this would be a fun car to have. Besides the I am more then old enough to decide for myself, dad! LOL
Thanks Katt

He is right. It will leak and the wiring is likely a total mess that will need to be gutted and redone from scratch.
Fun car to drive? Yes. Unique? Yes. Your only source of transportation? I hope not.
So...asking $1800. Likely get it for $1500. Then you probably will need to put $1000 to get it running reliably (if you are very lucky). So the question becomes...do you have an extra $2500 hanging around for a toy?

Well not all at once off the bat,no lol But I had been considering a Jag and everyone knows how financially needy they are, so I had prepared myself for it. As for main source of transportation, no, it would be a 4th car lol But really there were project bugs I was looking at, that would be the same, just easier to find some parts for. I really was looking for something fun and unique to play with. Still thinking about it of course, but any input here is helpful. Aside for that, I think they are very nice looking and a definite head turner. How hard are parts to come by for them anyway?

Well its a one piece body so there are no real body parts.
Doors are available on a limited basis and very expensive. The same for the rear window. Front windshield are Corvette and easily found.
Everything else is just what you want it to be.

Welcome Katt, I own a Gt2 that I love . It is a great car except in the rain. I have done tons work , wic=tch I do not consider it to be. However I do have about 5K into it and I still need body and paint. So as a hobby perfect, mine is my 3rd car .I drive a 69 beetle daily and road trip in a 76 bus. Let us know what part of the country you are in and we can be of more help .

I absolutely love my Bradley GT 1. It is a money pit for sure but one that always draws attention whenever I take it out for a drive. A Bradley, in my experience, is a hobby to spend your money on that will never return the money other than in the pride and joy of driving it around.

Well that description certainly leave alot to be desired, and the minimum photos don't help either. No pictures of the interior that "needs work", nothing on the gauges, the wiring, the overall mechanicals. It could be a basketcase with average paint and if so then the $2900 starting bid (with reserve not met) is too high.
Thats a pretty high starting price with reserve for a partially completed Bradley. I have found that the market for those mid level cars (ie: not top notch build and not a basket case) is pretty soft.
Another thing may be if there is a title issue. I know it says "clear" on the description but if you don't have a valid tuitle in your name you are stuck in NC
